I don’t know about that... When I had my Camaro SS, I found I drove that car slower than I thought I would. Just knowing I could kick their ass was enough to keep me in check, most of the time.
Yep! I have a challenger scat pack and I drive mostly the speed limit. But knowing I can go from 75 to 100 and pass someone by barely pressing the gas makes that easier. Although I will say it also leads me to passing people a lot on 1 lane roads because I can pass them in 2 seconds. 😂

Even the 2.3 ranger is faster than that. Something isn’t right.
You’re forgetting the 2.3 Ranger weighs about 1,000 pounds less than a fully-loaded First Edition Bronco. And it doesn’t have to push around 35” MT tires either.

Besides, the 2.7 only has 30 more horsepower than the 2.3. So their 0-60 times will be very similar.

HOAX ALERT: THE VIDEO SHOWS A TURBO BOOST GAUGE AND THAT’S ONLY ON THE 2.3 ACCORDING TO THE OWNER’S MANUAL

What’s that you say? Ford got the owner’s manual wrong? I don’t believe you.

Every time in my life a car ends up being slower than it should, the same sheep-like arguments are made about “it’s not a sports car” blah blah blah.

look if a f150 can do a sub 6s 0-60, then this thing should be able to as well. I don’t know if this was driver error or if the factory software nerfs the engine for the first 1000 miles or what. What I do know is that if this ends up being real, then the Broncos value prop is going to take a massive hit.

for some reason, manufacturers can’t give us a capable off road vehicle that also has good performance. There are only 3 true off-roaders that have decent performance as of now:

wrangler 4xe
Wrangler 392
G wagen

that’s it. It’s like…come on this can’t be this hard. Even if you don’t want to drag race your bronco, a vehicle is a hell of a lot more fun when every stab of the throttle results in effortless, easy acceleration and passing. If the vehicle is struggling all the time, it just sucks. It just does.

at the end of the day, we need a vehicle that’s a drag racer on the streets and a crawler on the steeps.
I have to say I agree with your statement for the most part, BUT it comes with a caveat... I will hold judgement until after the behind-the-wheel embargo is lifted and more reviews and videos start showing up with better performance testing guidelines and detailed information. This video doesn't provide much detail to me other than saying, "Bronco 0-60." Even though the OP eventually started giving a couple more details when asked, I'm still not entirely convinced and/or alarmed by his results.

Performance figures is a decent metric, but let's be honest... just because some can extract as much performance out of a particular vehicle doesn't mean you will be able to do the same. OP's 8 second 0-60 might be what he can do behind the wheel... hand the key fob to someone else and they might be able to knock 2 seconds off that time. Some people are just better at drag racing than others. I will say that this was by far the slowest I've ever seen a Bronco moving! LOL!

To clarify another thing, I don't expect Ford to release some kind of official 0-60/E.T./Top Speed numbers because I have noticed they don't on certain type of vehicles. If the Bronco is as anemic as this video made it look, it's going to take a hit... a HUGE HIT!

so…a fully loaded 2.3 SAS 4D = over 10.0 sec.
The 2.7L only has 30 more horsepower than the 2.3L. And when measuring 0-60 times, horsepower (and torque at the wheel), is far more important than engine torque. So the times between the two engines should actually be very similar.

All the if's and ands about this thread, at least it will be along time before we get our Bronco's by then we will know the real numbers and there will be a shit ton of mods/info to make it quicker off the line if thats what you want/need Me personally have always gone for the biggest V/8 in a vehicle, the whole 2.7 in a 5000 lb vehicle doesent really add up to low ET's, to make it seem fast you are gonna have to REV THE PISS OUTTA THE LITTLE THING!

People say that, but it's still the most fun to drive a fast car fast.
The most fun is driving a kinda fast mower, fast, but in slow motion!

It's an offroad 4x4 not a sports car!
2 doors, stick shift, red, and the roof comes off (at least what I ordered)
Sounds sporty.

I don't expect it to accelerate like my Mustang GT, but it needs to be able to get out of it's own way on the freeway onramp. In which case 0 to 80 is a far more important metric.

Over 8 seconds…slower than my 5000 lbs minivan (Pacifica 6.9 - 7.3 sec). My feelings will get hurt when I drag race at every intersection. And Yes the stopwatch is correct. Timer starts as soon as the guy puts foot on the pedal but Bronco speedo works differently. (Speedo updating 1 to 2 times per second, shows 0-5-9-13- mph)

The embargo on reviews is lifted tomorrow, correct? Hopefully they’ll have some real 0-60 times to compare. I would think actual times are at least a second faster.

I'm so obsessed with getting my Bronco that I just read EVERY POST in a thread about the 0-60 time of an offroad vehicle. And I knew after reading the first one that the "test" wasn't even conducted properly.

BUT I STILL READ EVERY POST. HELP PLEASE.
With small wheels and 600 pounds less weight.
I just looked up the specs. It’s wild the f-150 is 4465 curb and the bronco is 5100.
