it seems to depend on how you use it. This guy would disagree with you.

I plan to use my Bronco for over landing, not rock crawling. And it’ll be our only vehicle in the family. A parking spot where I live costs about as much as another Badlands. Like The Highlander, there can be only one.

Therefore, 33s it is. For me at least.
Ohhh...fine. Back to the drawing board I guess. Not sure what people getting WT’s and FE’s are supposed to do though unless they switch trims.

Some folks seem more interested in the looks, and pulling up next to a Prius. Maybe the Prius owner will be the one laughing at the "pavement crawler", lol. I mean, 4low, locking diffs, sway bar disconnects, 35" tires ... to drive around on pavement?
Michigan potholes are no joke.

For me, there’s more to the decision than how it looks.

WT is a different game. They’re usually not looking to get far off the grid. My dream is to drive this thing to polar bear country, and to Tierra Del Fuego. I might have it freighted to northern Chile in order to avoid Central America, but you get the idea. come back north through Argentina and Uruguay. Maybe ship it home from northern Argentina?

This is years away. I have a LOT of learning to do first. Gotta cut my teeth inside the lower 48. Throw In Labrador and the other Maritimes. Head for the northern Rockies only when I think I’m ready. some time in there onward to the Arctic Ocean which apparently isn’t as hard as you might think, so long as you’re in season.

You guys have much better eyes for detail than I do. I don't really see a difference in this pic.
I agree height wise. It boils down to personal taste. It would be a drag if every bronco on the road has the Sasquatch package. Personally, I am not a big fan of the fat fender flares. I plan to go BL with stock wheels and tires. If I want taller later then I will go with a 295 70 R17 or 285 75 R17. Taller and not as wide as the 315. I will still appreciate other broncos that I see on the road and envy too since I reserved in the fall.

There is no 7th gear ;)
In the 10r80 there is... and its 1.00:1 which would give you the cruising RPM that was incorrectly calculated by the poster I quoted.

Does that mean I can drive really slow up to a stop light too?

sorry if this offends Prius drivers, but you know you do this right?
Prius drivers are the worst. And I don't care if I offend them.

I think you're off by about 1000 rpm's. Did you factor in overdrive?
It appears my original calculations were based off of a final transmission gear ration of 1:1. I conducted additional research on the matter and corrected my calculations in the next post. Also, I did some reading to find out what overdrive is and it is essentially a generic term used to describe the highest gear in the transmission (i.e., ratio is below 1:1 or over-geared).

Interesting read: Overdrive

These calculations are wrong. Unless you plan on driving in 7th gear on the highway.

4.70
285/70/17's (badlands 33's)
10th gear

2,343 rpm @ 70mph
Your post prompted me to conduct some additional research into the matter. According to several Engine RPM calculators online, including CrawlPedia, Engine RPM can be calculated at any speed given the vehicle's tire size, axle ratio, and final transmission gear ratio.

[ (Axle Ratio x Vehicle Speed x Transmission Ratio x 336.13) / Tire Diameter ]

Note: 336.13 is used to convert the result to RPM = [63360 inches per mile / (60 minutes per hour x Pi.)]

Badlands:

Standard Axle Ratio: 4.46:1
Optional Axle Ratio: 4.70:1

Vehicle Speed: 70 mph

Final Gear Transmission Ratio: 0.636:1 (10th - Automatic)

Standard Tire Diameter: 33"
Optional Tire Diameter: 35"

Calculations:

Standard 33" tire using Standard Axle Ratio 4.46:1
[4.46 x 70 x 0.636 x 336.13/ 33] equals 2,022 rpm

Standard 33" tire using Optional Axle 4.70:1
[4.70 x 70 x 0.636 x 336.13 / 33] equals 2,131 rpm

Optional 35" tire using Optional Axle 4.70:1
[4.70 x 70 x 0.636 x 336.13 / 35] equals 2,010 rpm

It appears both of our calculations were wrong, though my calculations were in left field. I must have relied on websites that assumed the final transmission gear ration was 1:1...thanks @Spooled for making me do the research.

Hopefully this can help everyone.

I have been contemplating whether the Sasquatch Package is worth it or not.

The new pictures of the 2-Door on the 33s look great, but the moment you see it beside a Sasquatch, it looks small.

Here’s a picture of a Sasquatch in the thanksgiving parade. Just look at the presence it has on the road.

Anyone else having this dilemma?

With my build, bc I dont want manual, its a 1,500 difference between upgrading from the upgraded wheel (i dont like the "stock" ones) to Sasq. For such a small amount it makes no sense for me not to Sasq since I like the look more than no-sasq.

Fun trick, order a BL with 33s and the 4.70 gear with the A10 trans, you can lock out the upper gears so if you want to highway with 33s just keep it in 9 and lock out 10, its pretty simple. Those of you with the 3rd peddle will have to sacrifice

You have to use the actual measurements for the tires to be precise.

The "33's" are actually 32.7 inches and the "35's" are actually 34.4 inches. But yes my number posted was not exact either. I actually forget I saved this Excel calculator. I forgot who posted it on here. Has all the available combos.

Originally wanted mansquatch, even then I knew the 33” AT tires made more sense for Wisconsin winters. Ford kinda made the decision for me as I don’t want to wait til 2022 (or later?...this is Ford) I’ll be very happy with a manual badlands! I put a leveling kit and 33” Duratracs on my 2015 Rubicon manual transmission, I loved everything about that combo...

Yeah it's un-American to drive around in 4wd vehicles that never go off road or sports cars that never see a racetrack or sportbikes that never race or ....oh never mind ;)
A sports car has improved handling and power for on pavement. You need not take it to a track to benefit from those attributes. They are meant to improve performance on pavement.

On the other hand, 4low, locking diffs, unlocking sway bars, 35" tires, etc ... those are mostly geared towards off pavement use. On pavement the benefit is typically low, other than to the imagination. So your comparison has issues.
