those defenders are laughable as far as appearance is concerned - it looks like a freaking Scion XB .. it looks as capable as a Honda Civic.

Not only are there 2-Door defenders. You can get it with a 518hp supercharged V8.
... for over $100k ... yeah ... I'll pass.

$110,000 oh my god! Wow. 4.9 0-60. A Macan blows that away, but got to admit I’d be tempted with that v8.

Indeed. It's also fun to look back at the original Broncos and consider the engines and their output, the wheels and tires, and fun features like, "Hey kids, get out and lock the front hubs for dad, will you?!"

As we take deliver of our turbocharged engines with 35" Sasquatch packages and electronically- engaged differentials and so many other amazing features, I like reminding myself that people had fun in really basic rigs that were very capable in the right hands.

I was one of the little kids getting out to manually lock the hubs. :D

this...all of this.

I chose the 2dr non-sas Black Diamond because it seemed to channel the spirit of the OG Bronco. Capable, utilitarian, purposeful...can't wait.

The summery at the end summed up how I’ve been feeling lol the Bronco is definitely more Defender than the new Defender. I remember being so disappointed when they finally unveiled it. Really hope other auto makers are taking not of Bronco and Wranglers success - WE WANT CARS THAT LOOK LIKE F*CKING CARS 🤣 Not generic, melted bars of soap that have been run through a wind tunnel and optimized for complete soullessness and an anti fun factor.

As a ‘95 Def90 NAS owner (‘til death do us part) with a Badlands on order, I was thrilled at the advance marketing for the Bronco - took the pressure off of my wife’s insistence that we should get a new Defender...no, no, no!
To me the new Defender is visually indistinguishable from a Honda Element LOL (a great vehicle in its own right).

Wow, Joel McHale has fallen far, fast.
Anyway, saw a 4 door in person and I was impressed. Its not a classic Defender, but I like it.
