I know this is an old thread, but I wanted to thank you for this comment--makes me feel a LOT better about the 2-door.Having studied this a bit, let me share. The DESIGN is:
Rear seat bottoms rotate upwards to come flat against the front seats
Seat backs fold down better than this pic - but not flat (reminds me of bill clinton saying, 'kinda depends on what the definition of "is" is)
Headrests rotate to stick up like a pair of sore thumbs
Let 'am cancel their reservations. Especially if they're in front of me in line (which would be hard to do since I mashed that button as soon as it went live and had a reservation in the first 15-20 mins). The number of "I'm not gonna buy because Ford didn't offer exactly what I want" posts on something we haven't seen all the configurations for is exhausting...
That is my plan as well. Then I am going to build a storage box out of wood that fits in the foot well area behind the front seats. Cover it with the same stuff that the stereo shops use for speaker boxes and a hinged lockable top that is even with the rest of the back flooring. They are removable though. They're installed at the factory.

that sounds like a successful business planI am going to build a storage box out of wood that fits in the foot well area behind the front seats. Cover it with the same stuff that the stereo shops use for speaker boxes and a hinged lockable top that is even with the rest of the back flooring.
Storage solution #2 if the seats don't come out, just buy smaller things
Sad. However lets hope ford listens and gives us some solution to the 2 door storage/floor dilemma
