Hey Folks!

I've had my 23 Black Diamond 2 door for about 4 months now and am loving it so far. The most major gripe I have about it is the lack of really any meaningful storage outside of the rear cargo area. I started looking for hard cases that might fit in the same area and I stumbled across the Pelican Vault V700. It fits like it was made for the space and effectively raises the rear storage area up about 6 inches.

I found the case on Amazon for $170, so it's pretty cheap compared to other solutions. I think I might apply some kind-of-a anti-slide layer to the top if I can find something reasonable. If anyone has any ideas, please fire away.

Golfsnob,

That's a nice setup, but I need the back seat, so I can't go that route. Great for camping trips though!

What is the material you have on the bottom of your shelf?

I was in the same place and didn't see any panels that worked with or without the hardtop so I made my own molle and started selling them.
I just got back from Moab and was able strap all the recovery gear and tools with the cargo hooks, then keep all first aid, tire repair, and my fire extinguisher up and out of the way. Gotta get creative with the two door.

It's a cheap quilted faux leather mat I found on Amazon that just happened to be the exact measurements of my sliding tray.

Tool chest drawer liner which you can buy by the roll? Definitely tacky enough, though not sure how well it holds up to heat inside a car.

For cheap you could add some Command Strips and tool drawer or waffled shelf liner to the top.
If you want something more permanent use 3M Super 77.
