I really wanna do a small, light soft-top RTT, but would also like a basket. I think Smittybilt has a small (front to back) cage...
I wonder if I add a 3rd crossbar towards the front, if I could mount both on the 2 door....

Trying to conceptualize it, but you want storage in front of the RTT right?

Understating that this is a full size truck, you are looking for a shorter version of this:

Yup... A small, 2 man tent folded back the long side would be around 42 or 44inches...?
And a basket big enough for a couple of Rotopacks and a a Pano box.

For comparison, if this is to scale, B&P shows what looks like a Yakima Load Warrior basket option, which is 44X39"... Slightly smaller than the Tepui 2 man RTT
Still lots of room up there I think ??

Toggling between 2 and 4 door shows something that wasn't entirety obvious at first... At least on the renderings. Seems the 2 and 4 door use the same (size) rails.
So I wouldn't get any more roof real estate with a 4 door.

Thats a nice smaller basket

Still interested in a trailer hitch basket and going rack-less for easier top off, presumably better aerodynamics and less road kill bugs on the stuff up top

But they can have a different set of limitations I guess

This is why I’m planning to go with a GOBI rack instead. Way more space for a 4-door.

Just noticed this but I think it would need to be mounted sideways lol. Did you find any other solutions?

Saw that... Could probably mounted sideways and the fairing moved or removed. ?

Been doing a lot of research and think I am going to build a custom RTT/deck on top of the 2 dr. found some great ideas last night. A lot cheaper than buying one.

But would it have the ease of setup?

I'll bite. Care to share? If it's "a lot cheaper" I'd be interested.

Looking to probably use this as a basis for the platform. . Looked up the metal parts and can definitely do it for a couple hundred bucks. Plus tent of your choice.
