I ordered this 2022 Bronco Badlands Sasquatch (Lux) on November 5th 2021 and took possession November 10th 2022. I wheeled it completely stock for the entire first year (less installing a winch and bumper for self recovery reasons). Aside from loosing some ground clearance with the extra weight of the front end, I was immediately impressed! In December of 2023 I had the BDS Elite coilover kit installed, and shortly after slapped on some 37s.

1st year issues:

I got stuck in the snow in that 1st year and found out that the wiring harness feeding the sway bar disconnect wasn't plugged in all the way to the catch. In my process of getting unstuck, that came unplugged and caused a whole slew of problems. Actually had to go to the dealer to get everything reset as plugging it back in didn't fix it.

Rear wiper was bad from the factory as it wouldn't clear the window. I thought the spring tension was the issue on that rear arm but dealership replaced that wiper and problem solved.

Steering wheel doesn't get hot in this thing. It gets luke warm and that's it. Dealer looked at it and determined that's just how it is. Even on other broncos that were on the lot, that's all the warmer it gets.

Had an issue with the transmission screaming forward when in 4 low and downshifting from 3rd to 2nd (it's an automatic) while desending hills. It overpowers the brakes when it does it. They reset a bunch of stuff and it went away, but has since come back in the last 6 months.

drivers side window was catching on weatherstrip. they replaced the weatherstrip because it was way too soft, adjusted the window and it has been fine since.

Hood latch/sensor was bad and the alarm would go off when parked, and it was dinging incessantly going down the road.

2nd year issues - nothing overly major, just nitpicky stuff!!

After the trip to the dealer last year they flashed some kind of update (I think) onto the drivers side control module and not the passenger side. My drivers side windows roll down on unlock, but the passenger side does not. It’s been annoying but I just had this fixed this week as i was driving by the dealership on my way to a work project in another state. they rolled back whatever update caused that (it really annoyed me even though some people love their windows dropping 1/2 inch on unlock).

The center 12 inch display would lock up and reboot repeatedly on fire up of engine, but one of the most recent updates that was downloaded OTA seems to have fixed that. I actually took it off my dealership list of warranty things since it went away within the last few months.

I also had them flash the wiper motor TSB that addresses slow wipes on a barely wet window.

Also did the stupid seatbelt recall. What a joke lol!

The 3 to 2 transmission downshift issue has returned, but it's tollerable so far. I might try a transmission reset in forscan as that's basically what they did last time. plus some clutch resets which I don't think I can do. Guess i'll have to see.

Passenger rear window wasn't rolling up automatically. did a window relearn and that seems to have gone away. (where you pin the button down and up for 10 seconds after it stops moving).

All in all THIS THING IS AWESEOME! It doesn't flex as good as a jeep (it's close, but it just doesn't), but I don't care. I can haul butt down forest roads (within reason) and have to wait for the rest of the group to catch up. I was a sceptic about IFS, but so far I'm sold with the modernization of it and disconnecting sway bar. I am keeping an eye on the Scout Traveler Harvester, can't lie, but that's still 2+ years out before they are mainstream and in people's garages. So the bronco is safe for now and will continue to be my offroader and short trip driver for a few more years!

I have a 392 and a Bronco. Nothing beats the fun factor of a 392, but my Bronco is solidly my DD. Just way more comfortable to drive than a jeep for me. That says a lot since I still tolerate tooling around in a 95 YJ with leaf suspension. lol.

I have had a similar experience to you: I've had a few nuisance things happen (window f ups, modem, electrical snafus), but in general really happy with the Bronco overall.

I have a loaner brand new escape while my Bronco is in for some warranty work. After dropping my son off at school the heated steering wheel turned on and feels likes it’s going to burn my hands off. 21 Bronco heated wheel like you said is barely warm.

yeah it's just all nitpicky things with the excessive amounts of computers in these modern vehicles. it's a disservice to people who used to be able to work on things themselves, give me a late 80s K5 and there's almost nothing I can't do on those except yank the engine. I just don't have the tools lol!

yes i have asked a few times, and even asked if the steering wheel itself needed to be replaced and basically got a no-go on that. and my dealership is awesome, they've never done me wrong. but when your sterring wheel gets to like 90-95 degrees and your hands are that temp, well it doesn't feel hot at all.

Yep, the 'computer' on my YJ got fried and had to be replaced. Here is what it is:

2024 Wildtrak and a 2022 Outer Banks and I have the same "surge" issue in 4LO. It seems to be widespread as I've seen many others post about it.

Heated steering wheels in both of our Broncos are HOT. They heat up super quick and stay hot the entire time, so I'm glad we're not having that issue.

Great review! Thanks for sharing.

Id like to see how a tuned braptor would stack up against the 392..... I'm sure the bronco handling is light years better but hp is awash with the whipple tune I'm running.

Coming from 5 Jeeps, most recently a Sahara 4Xe, I agree that it's a better all-arounder but I do miss the turning feel in the Jeep for around town driving. Also, maybe it's just mental but this thing seems sooooo much bigger than my Jeep. I love the frameless windows when they're down but hate them the rest of the time(wobbly, reset needed constantly, etc.). I also put a deposit down for Scout. In the meantime, 95% happy with the switch.

Theres a change you can make in forscan to bring the steering wheel temp up to 102*

You go into the programming menu, click on the non as built body module ,then click the play button on bottom left, then scroll down to you see the steering wheel temp, then click on it and then edit, then you should see the drop down menu for Temps, select the temp then click write.

I was following a lifted Gladiator on the highway yesterday on the way home from work. The Jeep hit a bump and was jutted all over the road. I don't miss that though my 21 Rubicon drove pretty nicely, just not as good as the Bronco.

i will dig into that. maybe forscan has been updated with new values, cause previously i tried forscan and couldn't get it higher than 95.

Interesting on the surge issue. I had a 2-door Black Diamond sasquatch at the Off-Rodeo in Moab this past Spring [I think it was a '23]. It did that 2nd-3rd surge crawling forward a time or two. Most disconcerting. Seems like there should be a fix for that!

My '24 2-door with a manual has been pretty good, too. Had the front wiper-washer fail [replaced under warranty], and that's it so far with ~12,000 mi.
