If I get stopped for operating on public roads with my off-road lights on, I will be sure to reference the IIHS headlight rating in my excuse to the officer.

I wouldnā€™t say the headlights suck, theyā€™re definitely much brighter than halogens. I feel like they are aimed a little low though. The high beams are really good in my opinion. Might be worth it to adjust the beams a little higher, obviously not so much that you blind oncoming traffic

I just found these aftermarket crash bars. My Black Diamond SAS came from factory without crash bars so I have no concern about insurance of otherwise getting into trouble. If these are federally mandated, surely Ford would not be removing them..... maybe???

If they add a bit of crash safety, they may be a good purchase.
Check video about 5:30

Isn't this the guy that "sent" his Bronco deep into a mud puddle, and lost his 4WD ability?

The IIHS just finished its crash testing on the Bronco, it achieve a good rating in 5/6 test. Although it missed out on the Top Safety Pick designation like the Wrangler.

But what about the 2 door?

This will be frustrating because like me Iā€™m sure everyone will get bigger wheels/tires and those crash bars are right in the way. Iā€™m planning to remove mine, so you guys think itā€™s worth it?
Video depicting the difference in an F150 with and without crash bars (and the competition as well)

I heard the Bronco lost points because of a lack of cupholders in the rear.....spilled coffee, juice, beer and soda in a crash. ;)
Should have gotten a two door.

hmm. Idk... when I look at this graphic: (taken from the report)

it would appear the bronco is short of optimal in all directions.

unless I'm reading it wrong. šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø
Turn on the fog lamps, problem solved.

The Broncos ratings.
looks like they were not properly adjusted at PDI. the first thing we did on our last two new vehicles was adjust the headlights as the guidance on the daniel stern lighting website.

Are you going bigger than 33.5"x11.5" with a 17x9 with a +30 offset? It's an inch less ground clearance than the Sasquatch package, but I didn't have to pull the crash bars.

You can monkey with things to a point, but eventually, the crash bars will get in the way... At that point, your 40" airbags (tires) will probably absorb most of the energy that would have been taken by a set of crash bars.

Funny, but it actually does matter. When I drive my wife's RAV, I have to look down to find the coffee.
My Ferrari doesn't have even a single cupholder, stop complaining.... LOL.

This is great news! Glad it didn't roll onto it's side, unlike the Wrangler šŸ™ƒ. The headlight difference is likely in part due to LED reflector vs LED projector beams. My Outback has steerable LED projector headlights while our Pilot has LED reflector. I notice a slight difference but overall they are both quite bright compared to the old halogen ones.

The jeep is probably one of the least safest vehicles tested, Iā€™ve never understood how it didnā€™t earn a poor overall rating. The 4 door jeep rolled on the same test, itā€™s the only vehicle Iā€™m aware of to have done that. Jeep said it was tested improperly so they re-tested and same thing happened.
I look at death rates by brand, itā€™s a good indicator of how safe a vehicle is.

In itā€™s segment itā€™s definitely poor, but there are many cars with higher rollover deaths, like the Pahfinder or the Honda Pilot.
