I sent the original poster a PM a week ago asking about it and they never replied to me, their post below. Click on the user name, 14 messages in one day and has never been back. Sort of like the other dealer that faked they were not a dealer that replied to me a few pages back in this thread. I think I smell another rat.
You are the BS Sleuth aren't you @North7

That is what is needed here! Do not let any of us dealers get away with BS on the Forum..

Ah, yeah this is what I saw....

I have a question for you @North7 - I was trying to do the math on a 2-door Black Diamond using your chart but I come up with a different number! Here is my math process for getting the straight X Plan number:

+ 34,789.00 invoice
* 0.04 x plan
---------------
= 1,391.56
- 275.00 x plan fee
---------------
= 1,116.56 x Plan discount

+ 34,789.00 Invoice
+ 1,495.00 Delivery to dealer
---------------
= 36,284.00
- 1,116.56 x plan discount above (.04 below off invoice plus 275)
+ 100.00 doc. fee
---------------
= 35,267.44

Your chart has this as 36,520 for straight plan pricing. What am I missing? Thank you!

PS that other guy sounded like "Finance" with all his numbers thrown about.

You are using 4% (.04) not .04% (.0004) and the $275 is not a computational factor in the equation... i.e. does not need to be added in

Sorry my former life as accountant coming out....

Hmmm. Did you call them to verify by any chance? Or try to get a pin?
I spent 30 minutes on the phone with USAA trying to get more information on a PIN and no one had any idea what I was talking about let alone what the X-Plan is. Called Ford and they said to ask USAA Human Resources but USAA said they didn’t have an HR department... done wasting my time and since I have a membership with the DAV instead.

Probably can’t rely on being a USAA member.

That may simply mean it is for USAA employees, not members, just like AAA.

I’m asking a friend that works at USAA to check on Monday.

but yeah, sounds like it is for employees not members.

lol. Well .0004 is a $13 discount. So something is amiss... You are right about the $275, thank you.

Just realized this is Granger. I don't want to waste too much of your time but I appreciate the help figuring it out.

Okay I think I have it figured out but it still does not match @North7

+ 34,789.00 Invoice
* 0.004 x plan
---------------
= 139.16 x plan discount

+ 34,789.00
- 139.16 x plan discount
---------------
+ 34,649.84
+ 1,495.00 delivery to dealer
---------------
= 36,144.84
+ 100.00 dealer doc fee
---------------
= 36,244.84 total for Black Diamond stock 2-door w XPlan vs. 36,520 on chart.

This might matter for those of us stuck on the East Coast although I foresee a road trip.

Thank you!

North has the 275 factored in - because of that your number is correct and his is 275 high

Now you are there.. (y)

@uturn, in your first example, you accounted for the $275 Admin fee that is an adder to a "straight X Plan number" example (ignoring the discount percentage error).

In your second example, you forgot to add in the additional $275 Admin fee.

Here are the figures:
= 36,244.84 total for Black Diamond stock 2-door w XPlan vs. 36,520 on chart.

Adding in the additional $275 Admin fee for the "straight X Plan number":
$36,244.84 + $275 = $36,519.84 (rounded to $36,520 on chart)

@Granger Ford, regarding "North has the 275 factored in", I have this as an addition, not a factor.

I'm only on my first cup of coffee so I tripled checked my spreadsheet and I'm not finding any issues in the formulas. If you download the Excel spreadsheet you can look in each cell to see all the formulas I use.

Let me know if I have more work to do after my second cup of coffee.

You are correct and I was not! Thanks. The $275 is added to the "Invoice" price somewhere in reality though. The buyer pays it but may or may not already be factored in on invoice. It would not surprise me if the Invoice has a number $275 higher than the Invoice on your list. But it is factored in and I think your numbers are the correct numbers.

Here is Ford's X-Plan example pdf attachment, you can see the $275 Admin fee is a adder after the discount calc, not buried.

Ford does not play games like the dealers. The dealer will try adding $199 for floor mat installation.

Thank you to @Granger Ford, I've updated my spreadsheet to v10 in order to properly reflect the how the X-Plan $275 Admin Fee is calculated by Ford (not the dealer). The $275 X-Plan Admin Fee is already included in Ford Calculated X-Plan Invoice Price, as discussed in this post:
