Long time lurker here finally made an account. I’m super excited for the build and price to come but have been thinking lately about whether or not I’m better off waiting for the 2022 model. With how little time will most likely be between the model years will the 2022 model have any upgrades or more of the same. I was really hoping for a hybrid bronco but haven’t heard if that’s in the works either.

My gut says the 2022 will have a few things folks have been whining about. Green and/or Tan paint, Manual 2.7, different color interior.. I'm sure hybrid isn't too far away. They have to get more offerings year over year to keep sales up. Can't have it all the first year.

i don’t think there’s been any word on a hybrid yet so I doubt it would even be available for a ’22 model. The warthog or Raptor version could possibly use the 3.5L power boost engine from the F150, but I doubt Ford would lock that power plant to a trim, and a higher level trim at that.

You could be waiting for a bit but I could be wrong.

Warthog is getting the 3.0 ecoboost hybrid from explorer.

I would guess the 2023 year will get the raptor and hybrid.

I don't think there will be much change for 2022. There maybe some different color options, some colors going away and some new ones added. But I bet that's all.

The 2021 run is only being made for such a sort time I don't think anything new will be ready when they switch to the 2022.

You won't be getting a manual 2.7 more than likely ever.

Time will tell, but most likely (like it has already been mentioned) a few color changes (exterior & interior).

I can’t imagine many changes if any between a 2021 MY release in June and 2022 MY release in October. Only a 4 month difference.

Maybe we get lucky and they are releasing the Warthog for 2022 based on the testing timeframe for the 2021.

I suspect mostly cosmetic changes like paint colors and interior colors. I highly doubt there will be any mechanical changes in less than a year.

Bronco will be like Wrangler I would bet. From 2007 until 2017/18 the Wrangler had probably 90% parts commonality. And of that 10%, 99% was engine, transmission, or interior related. The axles/suspension/body/frame/running gear was unchanged for the whole production run, and aftermarket stuff works for all of them.

Since 2021s are getting a late start, I think it'll be almost the same, if not exactly the same. Maybe a new color or two, and maybe some option juggling. I wouldn't expect a hybrid until at least 2023 my.
