Hi everyone! Sergeant Gearhead here.

It may sound a little cliché, but man, it has felt like forever since the 2021 Ford Bronco was revealed. Just about a year, at least. And it has been at least a few weeks since Ford finally started building the thing and sending them out to their anxious, even frustrated customers. And for all the good folks on this forum that are still waiting, I'm telling you it is well worth the wait. Because I just got my first look at the new Bronco. Here's my story.

So yesterday I stopped by the Ford place in Jefferson City to briefly look at the 2021 F-150 for a bit. I'm looking at the trucks for a little while and a few minutes later, one of the salesmen comes up to me and says to me, "We have the new Bronco inside our showroom. You wanna come see it? I stand back, staggered. I say back to him, "Wow, seriously? I'd love to!" I've seen the Bronco Sport crossover SUV before, and I genuinely think it is a very cool vehicle. And if you think so too, you will love the real thing so much more you will (almost) forget the Sport ever existed.

I then walk into the building and I am greeted by a jet-black Outer Banks 4-door soft top demo unit. This thing looks amazing. Obviously my pick is the 2-door, but the 4-door doesn't look bad in real life. Enjoy the photos I took! Ask all the questions you like.

One of my favorite parts about this Bronco is the steel bumper up front. When I first saw the pictures of them after the reveal, my opinions were mixed. Now (and even before I saw this car), I think all Broncos need this bumper. It just looks proper with this front end.

This Outer Banks model does not have the Sasquatch Package, so it makes do with the standard 18'' wheels instead of the bead-locks.

This Bronco was equipped with the more powerful 2.7L EcoBoost V-6.

Here's the interior. This model had the Roast interior with the cloth seats. They felt pretty nice for the short time that I sat in it. The back seats are fairly spacious as well. One of my favorite parts about the seats was the blue contrast stitching on the upholstery.

I really like the simplicity of the Bronco's dash. Despite the big 12'' television screen (that's what the salesman I talked to calls it), it looks very old-school and rugged.

This is the center console. I really like the size and the texture of the GOAT modes dial. You probably don't see it because of the lighting (we opened the top so I could get better lighting), but it says on the dial that this has a 4WD Auto setting. The Build & Price tool on Ford's website says that the non-Sas OBX does not have this option. Can someone answer that for me please?

I can now see why everyone is so anxious to get their hands on the Bronco. It's eye candy on the outside, nice to sit inside, and looks like it can tackle some serious terrain (or mall-crawling). To those that are still waiting, your patience will be rewarded with how great this Bronco is. Good things come to those who wait, and it has never been more apparent now.

If you order the advanced 4x4 it has the option for automatic 4wd. I ordered this on my OBX. The build and price most certainly has the option.

I see. So automatic 4WD is a standalone option for the Outer Banks?

Love the black. If I was a younger lad, that's what I'd get. Too much upkeep with cleaning and buffing scratches for me now. Did you get any pictures of the Cobra?

Is there a good amount of space between the 2nd Row Passenger Door and the seat?

In My Pilot the Rear Passenger Door is very close the Seat.

The door's not too terribly far away from the seat, but it's far from cramped back there. You could hang out in the back for longer trips and not get claustrophobic.

Nice write up Sergeant gearhead. Not trying to hijack your post, but have a similar story and first time seeing a bronco today as well.

I went to work, and a call come up from my dealer (whom I’m starting to warm to after a rough start.). Now, getting a call in a Thursday from my dealer made my heart jump a bit….thought perhaps I was getting a surprise build notification….but nope.

He asks if I have an IPhone, and I say yes, and then asks me to take his FaceTime call. When I do, I see a gorgeous 2dr CG Badlands with 33’s and the optional wheels. He tells me it will be at his dealership for a couple hours if I want to see it.

I put in my leave form and make the hour drive, and was rewarded with the beauty below. Either I was the only one he called, or the others didn’t bother to show up, because it was just me, the Ford guy, my salesman, the GSM and the dealership owner. Some others walked in by chance, but I couldn’t believe there weren’t many buyers swarming around. And by the way, the pictures don’t come close to doing this rig justice.

Awesome photos! To be honest, it was a pure accident I found that OBX. I was originally just looking at the F-150 to see how good it was. Since the Bronco I saw was a demo model, the dealership couldn't sell it to anyone. In fact, the salesman I talked to also told me there was a guy there in a C8 Corvette trying to make an offer on it. At least $9k over the sticker price.

I can relate. I would have paid well over MSRP to have driven that 2dr off the floor……..although since it was a pre-production demo, I’m sure I would have opted to just stay in line and wait.
