I understand people trying to make sure they're not being scammed, but making accusations and smart a** remarks like some people have done on this thread and others is just trashy.

To anyone that says "you're just sensitive" or "it's just a joke" (1) the opposite of sensitive is insensitive (2) learn to take accountability for your words. People need to learn emotional intelligence. If you don't have something nice to say, don't say it. If it needs to be said, say it in a more productive way.
