Actually under the interior availability they used Warthog in parentheses for a vinyl seat option.

Two different trim levels for Raptor. Upper option includes adaptive cruise, heated steering wheel, lux package, wireless charging pad.
Do you know if the Raptor will offer front and rear lockers and/or sway bar disconnect, or will it be more of a desert runner without the off-roading capabilities?

You will find these on every Ford test mule. Not hybrid.
It is a hybrid.

https://fordauthority.com/2021/06/ford-bronco-hybrid-spotted-with-snorkel-possible-solar-roof/

That would explain the high voltage cable that is not on every test mule. Also, that super bulky top would logically be a solar panels. They typically don’t conceal the roofs (see all other test broncos) as well as the skinny road tires.

Ford said they plan on producing a hybrid powetrain on the bronco and the info is already in current bronco owner’s manuals.

It’s simply a matter of when.

I would really love a Code Orange (Or Desert Sand) Bronco Raptor. I am waiting around for the Raptor R, and if DS is not available as a color, I’ll go with Code Orange for that one!

People are already complaining that the Bronco is too wide for offroading so why make it bigger? Is it for the dunes and offroad racing like KOH?
If so that's not my kind of offroading and I am better off putting 37's on a Badlands SAS
So don't get it lol - they are targeting different customers.

We can see the snorkel, and I can buy/believe the hybrid component - but solar roof? That just seems like something they made up out of thin air with no evidence to support it. Early original testing mules also had the raised roof to hide how it worked/how the panels were.

I know about it a little. But it still wouldn’t make any sense to do it after Bronco orders would close. Many people currently with a reservation are looking forward to this, would make sense to give them that opportunity.
Yeah, I’ve been wondering about how this would work ever since I saw this thread yesterday. My ‘21 WT order was 99ed so when the banks open back up I need to reorder. As of now, I’ll end up ordering pretty much the same thing as before, although I’m considering switching to a soft top to (hopefully) get a bit of an earlier delivery. But I would rather have a Bronco Raptor assuming a decent set of features. A 3.5L Ecoboost would be a big selling point to me. So if the Bronco Raptor is considered just another trim, than I just change to it when I reorder. But there seems to be a more believable point of view in this thread that the Bronco Raptor will be a separate build and order and that their availability will be limited and expensive. I suppose I feel like if I have to wait until third or fourth quarter of 2022 to get a Bronco, I’d just as soon it be a Bronco Raptor. Maybe I ought to call Granger and get on their Bronco Raptor wait list. Is that a real thing, and if so, how does one get on that wait list?

Different theory on the skinny tires in the alleged hybrid described by fordauthority. Those skinny tires keep those wheels inside the wheel wells with almost no fender flare. They also likely get much better mileage than M/T 35s or 37s. And this vehicle was heading to EPA for testing. So perhaps doing emissions / mpg testing and obfuscating a beefier vehicle by hiding the need for wider fenders?

What if Ford is doing something similar to their F-150 PowerBoost for the Braptor, similar to the Jeep 4xe strategy? With CAFE limits sloping downward, they can't just keep putting bigger engines into everything. Such a hybrid approach would kill multiple birds with one stone: reduce fleet emissions, add substantial power and torque to the Bronco without adding a bigger gas engine or increasing emissions, and fulfill the goal of having an electrified model.

Honestly, I'd consider trading up for that.

Ok, yea I thought solar panels were a little far-fetched but I thought could explain the thickness and why it was covered, but your theory sounds more plausible.

I would think the EPA would be privy to an attempt to thwart regulations. The #s would mean nothing if they test it with 7000 lb Braptor on escort tires. Looks like the equivalent of the roided bodybuilder that always skips leg day. Unless they are doing some type of benchmark with different tires? Typically Electric vehicles utilize smaller tires to reduce friction, therefore increasing range. Especially on a vehicle that’s tipping the scales without a battery.

I agree that a hybrid makes so much sense to appease the power hungry crowd while offering mpg that won’t sink Miami in 5 years. Though, Miami probably deserves it.

I hope it comes for MY22 but gut tells me prolly MY23 for phev.

If Desert Sand is similar to Terrain I'd be very interested. Great color imo

Not any time soon.

The "high voltage" cables you see are Parker hoses, not great at transmitting electricity. There is no solar panel either, what it is is way more useful than that. The imaginations that exist sometimes are actually pretty entertaining.

Ehh idk. No one knows if it will be offered as a PHEV or not. Ford never shoots it straight so I rather just wait on them.

We need more details on what an Everglades is (like is it built or badlands or ??).

Be nice is the new Desert Sand color was available on all trim levels.

It will be revealed about a year from now.

Your pessimism isn’t entertaining — it’s depressing. Ford already has the eco-boost/hybrid powetrain in the F150 Hybrid. Plop that sucker in the Ford Wrangler and you have a 4xe competitor with torque for days.

MY23.. Mark my words and gift your badlands to me when the eco-boost is running in tandem with a 1.5 kWh battery. If you’re right I’ll gift you a delicious cookie.

Deal?
