Several weeks ago I posted a WTB ad for a modular bumper. I was a little sad because it seemed that EVERYONE is trying to get a modular bumper. 😢

After several hits, (one of which was a PM from a scammer that has since been banned) I had a forum member give me a lukewarm offer — possibility — of a takeoff modular bumper from a Bronco Raptor. It was contingent on whether or not he liked the new aftermarket winch bumper he had just acquired. A couple weeks went by and he almost hesitantly decided to sell me his OEM bumper. I made the 6-hr round trip drive and picked it up this past weekend in my F150. For those that are considering this swap, I was very surprised just how heavy this dang bumper is. I’m really glad I took my truck and several packing blankets to get it. It was surprisingly heavy to me…….much heavier than I expected.

The install was super-straightforward and VERY easy considering my Badlands had dummy sensors and foglights. There was no wiring, so it was just a matter of 6 bolts, removal of the plastic bolt covers, and then not damaging the new bumper during installation.

I am SUPER-STOKED about the finished product. Now all I need is lights and dummy sensor covers. (If anyone has a suggestion on those, please feel free)

I think the new bumper looks great!!

How/Why did a Badlands come with the plastic bumper?? I thought they came with the steel Capable bumper. Did you buy your Badlands used?

Makes no difference. I have a non-sas BL that I ordered with the steel bumper.
I think that is the key. It ‘can’ be ordered with a steel bumper, but it doesn’t automatically come standard. My buddy at work has a Badlands and his has a front camera, modular bumper, and sensors. (His is also non-Sasquatch)

Mine had none of that. 😢

Mine is not a Sasquatch edition unfortunately, and yes……I did buy it pre-owned, one owner, but you could tell it was not modified in any way. It had 1,400 miles, one-owner, and still smelled new inside.

Never off-road……until I put 300 miles on it the first week and took it in the mud 😆

I swapped from the plastic bumper to a capable bumper last month and used the following sensor hole plugs from Amazon - perfect fit.

Amazon.com: Masendelk 10pcs Plastic Hole Plugs, Snap in Locking Hole Tube Circular Locking Fastener Cover, Insert End Caps for Furniture Fencing Post Pipe - 28mm, Black : Industrial & Scientific

Here is what they look like on the capable bumper...

Thank you for that. I have two sets of plugs headed this way now, but yours were also 1-day delivery for me, (for the best price of any of them) so they are headed this way also.

Thanks again 🍻

Also, although I know that the standard bumper mounting bolts (6), work with the other 2 bumpers, Flip pointed out the parts number for the Mod and Capable are the same and the standard bumper has its own.

Didn’t want the lights or sensors. Didn’t want them. I plan to get Baja Designs lights soon. I just have to save my Pennies so I don’t get in any more trouble from the Long-Haired General

(Wouldn’t have minded rubber molding pieces, but I’m ok without them)

Definitely no expert on Broncos and the different model subtleties……..but I would be willing to bet my firstborn that this bumper had never been off the vehicle. 🤷‍♂️

I bought this Bronco on a bit of a whim, but I am SUPER HAPPY With the purchase
