This 2023 Ford Bronco DR off-road race truck is one of a claimed 50 examples produced by Ford Performance and Multimatic Motorsports of Ontario, Canada. The truck is built on a modified Ford Bronco U725 chassis that wears fiberglass body panels wrapped in red, white, and blue vinyl. It rides on a lifted suspension with Multimatic aluminum lower control arms and remote-reservoir adjustable spool valve dampers and is equipped with 17″ beadlock alloy wheels and Alcon disc brakes. Power is from a 5.0-liter Coyote V8 linked to a 10R80 ten-speed automatic transmission, a dual-range transfer case, and locking differentials. Further equipment includes a roll cage, tubular steel bumpers, and Rigid Industries LED light bars in addition to Recaro racing seats, Sparco harnesses, a MoTeC data acquisition and display system, Lowrance navigation, and a two-way radio and intercom system. Acquired by the selling dealer in 2023, this Bronco DR is now offered in Texas with a Multimatic Motorsports certificate and a bill of sale.
The Ford Bronco DR was announced in November 2021 by Ford and Multimatic Motorsports. The companies collaborated on a limited production run of 50 units with planned delivery dates starting in late 2022. This example is outfitted with resin transfer molded fiberglass body panels that are unique to the Bronco DR, and a red, white, and blue vinyl wrap with Bronco graphics was added under current ownership. Additional equipment includes Rigid Industries LED light bars and rock lights along with a roll cage, tubular steel bumpers and side steps, side and rooftop air scoops, and a removable engine cover. The truck is not equipped with doors or window glass.
Black-finished 17″ wheels feature silver beadlocks and are mounted with 37×12.50″ BFGoodrich competition tires, while a matching spare is stored out back. Stopping power is from Alcon calipers over vented discs at all four corners. The reinforced chassis is equipped with Multimatic aluminum lower control arms and remote-reservoir adjustable spool valve dampers. Radflo hydraulic bump stops are fitted with pressure sensors that feed the data acquisition system. The setup provides 11.8″ of ground clearance as well as 15.8″ of suspension travel up front and 17.4″ out back.
The stripped cockpit houses Recaro Pro Racer ORV-XL seats trimmed in black vinyl and outfitted with Sparco multi-point harnesses. The installed MoTeC data acquisition system features a device control panel and telemetry readouts, and additional equipment includes a Lowrance HDS 9 GPS navigation system, a Kenwood two-way radio, a PCI intercom system, a reverse-view camera, a driver ventilation system, a Blue Sea Systems power cutoff switch, and Safecraft window nets.
The Sparco flat-bottom steering wheel wears Ford Performance branding. The wheel is mounted on a quick-release hub with Holinger paddle shifters and accompanied by a Tilton pedal box and brake bias controller. A configurable MoTeC C187 display incorporates a GPS speedometer, a tachometer, oil pressure, fuel level, and voltage as well as temperature readouts for the transmission, transfer case, coolant, and front differential. The truck is not equipped with an odometer, therefore total mileage is unknown.
The third-generation 5.0-liter Coyote V8 features a dual exhaust system featuring headers and MBRP mufflers. A rear-mounted radiator is fitted with electric cooling fans, and the truck is equipped with a 65-gallon fuel tank.
Power is sent to the rear or all four wheels through a 10R80 ten-speed automatic transmission, an electronically shifted dual-range transfer case, and front and rear locking differentials with 4.7:1 gearing. The truck is equipped with skid plates under the steering components, engine, and transfer case.
