I think the Ford top will be less due to scale
If I were ordering a 4dr I'd be tempted to spec a mod top and sell it for a tidy profit, then get a Bestop instead. Shoot I'd probably do it for a 2dr too, they should be sought after by MY21/22 owners. I may never put my 2dr MIC back on again but there's no market for it so it sits.
I won't be getting a MOD top, so I hope you're right for the people who might want one after they take delivery.
Guys, your not close. $1895 is NOT the retail price from the factory. Its the upgrade price over a soft top, which the price of is buried in the vehicle cost. So assume $2k for the soft top and the factory cost of a mod top is close to $4k. Then the fact that add ons are always much more at the parts counter than from factory. Then freight. You will not buy a mod top at the parts counter for $4k, it will be much more.
ford offers steel painted fender flares on the outer banks so maybe possibly can get gloss black fenders to match the top?If I were getting a 2-door, I would absolutely want the MOD. Being able to take out the "sun roof" and windows makes it so you can actually get an outdoor experience without taking off the whole back part.
With the 4-door, it is less interesting. Combined with the MIC-texture fenders, it is yet less interesting still. Not interested at this time.
Yup, forgot about that one. Jeep tops come raw to the dealer, who has to paint them. Very likely ford does the same, especially seeing how they crate MIC tops to the dealer with glass uninstalled and a glass company needed.+$1500 to have it painted.
They will. It will be called the R-E-T-A-I-L program. They won’t give a one cent discount.Dang I’m praying Ford has some program to buy a MOD top for those of that had to pick a softie to get a build date
It will be the same calculus that others that wanted a MIC HT but opted for the soft top will have figured out. As has been mentioned, the cost to add it to an ordered Bronco will be substantially cheaper than ordering through the parts department and having it painted/installed (glass is shipped out of the frame). It likely will be cheaper to order a new Bronco and sell the one you own.Dang I’m praying Ford has some program to buy a MOD top for those of that had to pick a softie to get a build date
This sounds like a good guess. MIC is $10k retail from Ford as of now.https://www.advfiberglass.com/products/2021-2022-ford-bronco-hardtop?variant=39547147747430
This one is nearly $6k. I'd bet add $2k to this and you might start getting close to buying a MOD top from a Ford parts counter.
Or dealers having to reinstall windshieldsYup, forgot about that one. Jeep tops come raw to the dealer, who has to paint them. Very likely ford does the same, especially seeing how they crate MIC tops to the dealer with glass uninstalled and a glass company needed.
