Ha! True story...I'm into a week or two of Braptor ownership at the time. After work, trying to get on the highway but road construction has made that a major obstacle. The "detour" takes us below the interstate, winding around on a few city streets and running into a few stoplights.

At last stoplight before being able to enter the highway, I'm three cars from the front in the left lane. We get through one song on the stereo and the light is still red. Two songs, then three.

By the start of the fourth song, I honk. No one budges. I open the door and yell for people to go. No one budges. There's a jeep right in front of me and looking to my left, there's no one in the left hand turn lane. F*ck it. I crank the wheel left, up over the curb onto the are below the overpass and I exit on the road perpendicular and then hang an immediate left to continue on my way. Surprisingly the jeep didn't follow.

I did "wave" as I was turning left. Pretty sure those cars are still there to this very day. Poor souls.

The below photo represents my daily commute. Yes, that's a jeep, on its side. It's like mad max here.

I went from my OBX and got a great deal on a braptor! The braptor drives like a Cadillac so smooth I just drove our grocery getter expedition thatā€™s brand new and it rode so rough compared to the braptor. Mpg isnā€™t best but itā€™s similar to my OBX so not a big deal to me. Hwy and city driving is amazing so comfortable. Itā€™s bigger but not even noticeable drives like my old rig. Love the power, suspension, steering, and exhausts adjustments on the fly. Canā€™t wait to get it on a trail! Being careful as itā€™s going to be on display at the Mint show next month šŸ˜

Ooof, hope the person/people were ok. Frightening to have that happen in the middle of the highway for all involved.

I just bought one for 76K. MSRP was 98,500. Sweeeet!. I had a jeep coming off lease and that got me an extra 2K. I am not sure we have seen the floor on the 24's.

When bronco raptor first came out the price was 70s. Jim Farley rised it to 90s in these short years. So with current discounts dropped to first year released pricing is hardly any discount.

I've had my Wildtrak for 3 months. Sticker was 72. Didn't pay that, but if I coulda had a Raptor for that price, I still woulda' choose the Wildtrak. The Wildtrak isn't far off from a Raptor. That's why I wanted it. I don't like the all digital cluster as much and I don't like the wider stance. HATE the fenders on the Raptor. Don't know about other places and people, but in my experiences, I out drive the Raptor owners every time. I went Bronco from two previous Jeeps, the last being a Mojave. I like being back to the shorter wheelbase. I like to drive fast and you learn how to make your vehicle do what it's built to do. I don't get to off-road nearly as much as I would like. Prefer fast trails. No interest in crawling. But I know Raptors are great at some things and not others. To answer whether a Raptor is worth the extra ten thousand. I would say, get what you want. Know what you want 1st! Maybe that extra ten would be better spent turning your Bronco into YOUR Bronco!
Last thing, add a digital rearview for visibility. It's worth it!
I respect your views. The wildtrack has been discontinued and replaced with an unnecessary trim level if you ask me. I was really leaning to the badlands but I wish they had at least included the 3.0 suspension standard in them. I have build a bronco but it needed too much more. The way i see it the raptor is almost complete, it just seem a little wide for the trails i want to get on

lol your average city dwelling Jeep owner has never parked in the grass let alone jumped a curb. lol. Nice job showing them how to get around the sheep. I bet they had stories to tell about ā€œthe lunatic Bronco driverā€ at the supper table lol.
There arenā€™t any Bronco groups around me so Iā€™ve joined a few Jeep groups and occasionally go out with them. Like most things in life, there is a mix of inexperienced & experienced. Overall, decent folks though.

Not sure I have laughed harder when one of those inexperienced guys posted up a pic of his Jeep doing some mall crawling and got himself stuck on a mound of snow in the parking lot!

Being the smart ass I am I couldnā€™t resist the urge to offer to come winch him out of any of those situations as long as I could take pics and videos to share with other Broncos. He wasnā€™t as amused.

Came to say a similar thing. Yes the discounts are deep on Braptors, but roughly 20-30% depending what incentives a buyer qualifies.

Looks like you guys managed around 16% off on a Badlands. Sweet by the way!

If I was buying I would be looking at dealer inventory that meets my desired load out and then hammering the dealer on price. Buyers have the leverage and should use it wisely. Aggressively for a 20-25% discount on lower models seems doable.

When comparing prices, Iā€™ve noticed people tend to compare a discounted Braptor of $70-75k against the MSRP of a lower trim like the Badlands. In reality it should be discounted Raptor vs discounted Badlands/whatever trim level.

Perhaps equally important is consideration of any losses that will be taken to get out of current vehicle to buy a Braptor. Jumping out of any vehicle bought within 6 months will likely come with monetary loss of some amount. Even if you paid cash, you would be weakening the strength of your dollar since you wouldnā€™t technically be upside down.

Fake example:

Sell current vehicle = $5,000 loss of value
Badlands discounted = $56k (20% off)
Braptor discounted = $70k (30% off)
Real delta = $70k - $56k + $5k loss = $19k

vs.

Badlands MSRP = $70k
Braptor MSRP = $100k
No need to sell current vehicle = $0 loss
Real delta = $100k - $70k = $30k

Not saying a Braptor isnā€™t awesome, or worth it or anything like that. Just go in with your eyes wide open. Obviously those numbers above can & will change based on lots of variables. While I think there is some advantage to Braptors itā€™s not the delta being assumed by most people.

Thanks, but the price my son and i managed to get was over 20% off msrp. Probably 22%
Don't forget, the $53,800 we paid was out the door. Tax, tag and anything else is included in that price.
I realize that we could've waited for a better deal, but my son has been bugging me for months, so i figured that price was fair...

Given the delta between the Bronco and F150 Raptors Iā€™d say $20k is just getting it back to where it should have been from the start

Even better for you guys. Didnā€™t mean this in a negative way towards you or your deal. You just happen to be a convenient data point.

Getting closer to 22% off narrows that gap even more as the prices being discussed for $70k-ish on a Raptor isnā€™t OTD with taxes.

When we get done doing voodoo math I think the premium on a Raptor is somewhere in that $20-25k range as @Brian_B noted.

At the time I bought my 23 Badlands that premium was closer to $40k+ after I beat the dealer down on purchase and trade. For me, it simply wasnā€™t worth that premium.

A year or so earlier I bought my wife an Explorer ST which is the Raptor in that product line. Itā€™s a 12 second 1/4 mile grocery getter with luxury out the ying yang and massive sunroof. We paid around $60k for hers and that was when getting sticker was ā€œa dealā€.

At some (hopefully distant) point in the future when/if the 2.7 dies, I will swap in something more powerful & cool. I really want a V8 but mainly because Iā€™m a gear head, want lope and some loud exhaust. None of which goes well with a 6 cylinder, even the 3.0 in the Raptor.

My Badlands is lifted and on 37ā€™s as of a few weeks ago. Before I worry too much about all the capability of a Raptor, I need to max out my current capability. Hands down the best mod we can ever do is ā€œdriver modā€ and since most of us arenā€™t circuit racing we all probably have room to improve, at least I do.

When it comes to music, often the ROI on gear is far below the ROI on lessons.
