Haha my Wife had 2010 and has a 2017 Escape now. We are looking at getting a Bronco Sport to replace the 2017 since it reminds her of her old 2010 Escape and she prefers boxier styling.
I don't blame your Wife one little bit. I liked the OG Escapes as well but your '17 was just a leftover Eurotrash design

Ford should have never re-designed the Escape and the Bronco Sport would never had been an issue.

As for this BS SAS, I just say the same thing that I have said since '21 when I saw the Bronco on the grill and the Sport on the rear.

Imagine if the infotainment screen goes out? You’re pretty much toast
Wife and I were early owners of a 2013 Tesla Model S. Its' LCD screen began to leak oily liquid onto the carpet making the top of the screen useless. It would have been $3k back then to replace it (not under warranty) so it got traded in. 🤷‍♂️

You're on to it, more like a Cherokee Trailhawk competitor. Will cover weekend warrior duty no problem.
No such thing anymore, Jeep discontinued the Cherokee..

The closest thing to it would be a Compass Trailhawk, Which is nowhere near the cost or capability of the Bronco Sport Sasquatch.

If you want a Grand Cherokee Trailhawk, those start at 66k (4xe only) now. so also not a direct comparable.

This leaves the Bronco Sport Sasquatch more of a competitor to Toyota TRD Pro 4runners, Which it really can't match.

My first thought was, "Wow, a Bronco Sport Sasquatch is probably going to be even much more capable than a Bronco Sport Badlands." But then I saw the tires are only 10mm wider. Yes, there's other tech, but it seems very carefully engineered to not step on the toes of even the least-capable Bronco. That seems weird to me, because it's pretty clear there is very little cross-shopping between the two. Why can't a Sport Sasquatch have larger tires and maybe a little lift? It's already over-lapping the Bronco on price.

Maybe they'll do a raptor edition? :p

Wheel wells severely limit the tire size. They'd have to redesign much of the vehicle to be able to fit significantly larger tires.

Jeez yeah I would've done the same. It's pretty nice that you were one of the first Tesla owners though

Aside from the superiority complex here, the Bronco Sport is not competing with the Bronco. So get that out of your puddin' heads.

This is going against things like the Subaru Wilderness and others of that ilk.

Does this mean that the 2025 full size bronco will be released soon? It’s taking quite longer than expected

It depends on the price. Bronco Sports were supposed to be low/mid 30s for budget-conscious consumers.

If all the packages bump the price to mid-40s... you are competing now with mid-sized SUVs in that same price range and can almost be as capable.

If they are catering to the premium small off-road SUV market (like if MINI created an baby Defender) then that market is tiny and sales will be poor.

Did they ram a 13" screen and a digital cluser into a Big bend? I am curious what they refreshed Bronco gets now. Maybe rear seat AC vents?
Look at the latest Chinese market Bronco and that'll give some clues. It got rear ac vents, full digital cluster, sync system allows you to connect a drone to trail the car for video, the self driving chip, and I believe the everglades fenders.

That is basically every vehicle on the market. The high end of the smaller vehicle overlaps in price with the low end of the larger vehicle. It's not really a comparison, but rather a choice: more features in the smaller vehicle, or a larger, stripper vehicle. When you take the luxury labels into account, the price overlap extends even further. Case in point: it is possible to spec a Lincoln Corsair (Ford Escape platform) all the way up to $70K. Think about how many other larger platforms in the Ford family that overlaps or surpasses.
