So wait.... I see by the hero switches it is missing the trail turn assist, so that leads me to believe this is a manual. Your saying this was a manual SAS? I'm willing to bet it was a BL with the optional wheels rolling on 33"s. Not a Manual SAS.

Look like this?

I was there. It was the manual 2.3L with the optional 33 inch wheels as shown in your picture.

This is making me too hopeful for a 22-24mpg highway number…. With 20 average.

Definitely this! I noticed the same thing and I was going to comment, but then I saw yours. Non-sas and manual Badlands. I am a little surprised folks can't tell the difference between sas and non-sas at this point in the game.
The 33's on the optional wheels are deceiving in pictures. And in person I'm guessing a bit of excitement keeps people from looking closer. The 32's look bigger in person than in pics, I can only assume it's the same for 33's.

why does the graphics and color scheme on the screen seem so dated? Looks like a computer from the 80s

Wait are you saying the owners manual is digital now? Do they still give us a paper copy? That was a favorite part of my child hood reading through the owners manual of every car I got to ride in. I hope they give us something I can file away and not worry about losing to a glitch.
You can order a hard copy from Helm, which I will be doing along with the wiring diagrams 👍

Yeah, my 07 FX4 with the 5.4 was a bit painful. My 98 was even worse though.
I had an Excursion with the V10 gas engine. I never beat 13 mpg, even downhill on a highway with a tail wind. And a kid on a pedal bike could out-accelerate me.

Does anyone think the mpg will be better with the two-door?
My guess is city probably will be by 1 mpg but highway will probably be the same, assuming same configuration.

That would be awesome mileage. Can’t wait to drive mine. My 79 only gets 8mpg, the 79 gets about 10-11, and they are fun to drive. To have a Bronco that would break 20mpg would be awesome.
