Yeah, they seem scarce at the moment.
They are, but the parts sites still have the same 4.7 m210 diff listed going on 6 months now. I am still beating them down on price. Keep offering them less every time they hit me back up.

I dunno seems almost as daunting as the V8 swaps...shudder
I don’t think they are even on the same level honestly. The only hitch right now is the front locker and whether it can be wired thru a new set of hero switches. Others have done it thru the aux switches from what I gather so far.

Ford even tells us which calibration to buy and use and sends it vin protected for your Bronco with the ability to select your gearing and tire size. I’m actually feeling pretty comfortable and confident about it.

Yeah, when they are trying to sell the used part for more than we can buy the part new, that’s a problem 🤣

One thing to be aware of — there are many reports of these front diffs leaking from the pinion seal. Mine included. I’d be wary of swapping in such an expensive component with 0 warranty support for it.

It's a pinion seal, easy fix! And probably a $6 part...

Ford seems to think otherwise — they’re replacing the entire diff. It runs low by about 6-8oz of fluid before the leak stops, which is probably not great for the life of the diff.

I guess that would be a discussion with the Parts and Service Managers before going down that road to ensure that the part would be covered since they are listed as “Replacement Parts”

Pretty sure they’re only considered replacement parts if your vehicle was originally spec’d with those parts. Either way, do your due diligence with the warranty department first if that’s important to you!

Absolutely. I think that a lot of items are in the gray area, so really it comes down to the relationship you have with your dealership.

Like you linked above, I'm in the process. I got the harness and the hero switch, want one without swaybar disconnect. I'm hoping flip comes through on that one. I'm thinking Forscan will be all we need and the values from like vehicle but with Sasquatch package.

Here is the harness I bought.

Here's the locker connection.

I just need to figure out which harness this harness replaces and swap them. Hopefully it all comes together like it was done at the factory.
could you send me some more pictures of the vehicle side of the harness? I can look on my black Diamond today, according to the wiring diagrams the FAD and the lockers are controlled from the awd Module. Worse case I can trace the fad wiring back looking for a connector or maybe even at the awd module itself.

Front Drive Unit: $1965
Half Shafts: $495
Req. Calibration: $895
Hero Switches: $97

Total: $3452

Keeping in mind that some people @flip give discounts, etc…looks like all the parts come with 36,000 miles warranty, so this may be a way to go for non-SAS Bronco owners.

@CMillBronco also posted above a link to @LethalPerformance their conversation kits that have all the parts already packaged together at a good price, but don’t see a hero panel switch in their description. Which leads me to believe that we may have to use an AUX switch. But I hope that isn’t the case.
I've been dealing with ford performance for about 2 weeks now and they are actually granting warranty on my 4.46 M210 swap for an elocker failure. They are sending me a complete new FDU and a new connector pigtail to eliminate all potential issues, but at this time the only thing they could come up with for wiring between the tech team and engineering is an aux switch. They are supposed to be sending me a pinout of the connector/harness they are sending and I can post it here once I have it. Besides my locker issues the M210 swap is pretty straightforward. The hardest part is getting the m210 to slide up in there, it's a pretty snug fit.

You are awesome. I can’t wait to see what you find and how it all works out 😁

Oh sorry, I meant the harness you have, just the side that would go to the truck and not the locker side. The pigtail I started with was different and just 2 bare wires. I can't find connector diagrams in the schematics and wiring diagrams to see if it's a seperate plug or if they all come into one and it just needs pinned in the correct spot.

and yea I'm not looking forward to doing it again..

Right on, that's gotta be the right harness to make this work. Nice find and thanks for labeling that out. I wonder if that second connector is for a Sway bar disconnect or something, it almost looks like the connector I disconnected from the fad and the placement looks right but there shouldn't be a fad on any m210
