I wanted to ask those that have installed an aftermarket sub and amp to power the sub and have a dummy sub and amp currently. Did you need any additional wiring to power the sub and amp outside of what was there? If yes, what did you purchase?

Yes. The OE wiring gauge is not great with an amp upgrade. Running new power from the engine bay back to the stock location requires pulling a bunch of trim but it's not difficult.

Have the mObridge amplifier installed at the stock B&O AMP/DSP location. Using the OE sub enclosure but modified for a JL driver. Works good. This is an all-in-one including a sub channel. I don't really know some of the non-BO DSP configurations, if that's what you have. I think quite a few folk have been doing the kicker keys on those.

You may also want to consider installing some damping material such as CLD and stuff the rear panels with acoustic batting depending on what you do with the sub. Good time to do that if you're updating the wiring for power. Been rattle free here with the extra effort.

I forgot to mention that I have the base audio system. Not the B&O. Not sure if that matters.

The stock wiring is fine for stock-ish equipment so if you are just swapping the factory-delete stuff with functional but equivalent stuff - or a modest upgrade - you are set. If you are looking at actually *upgrading* beyond that then you *may* need to run beefier wiring but best to determine what your chosen equipment setup will *need* and then backwards engineer from there.
