Wonder how these changes will affect the future availability of a manual for the Bronco?

Per the article below:

"The 2025 Jeep Gladiator will exclusively feature a high-tech eight-speed automatic transmission to maximize the best-in-class V-6 towing and payload capability demanded by our mid-size truck customers. This configuration is chosen by most Gladiator owners today, and best matches the specific capability and expectations customers tell us they want in an open-air Jeep pickup truck. The iconic, flagship Jeep Wrangler will continue to offer a manual transmission as part of its 80-plus year of heritage and for Jeep brand customers who appreciate the involvement of a manual gearbox."

And here's the V-6 with manual only:

Jeep is famous for starting the year one way and then changing mid stream, probably bring auto V6 back for late availability 25's.

As a HUGE manual enthusiast... not sure if I should be happy or sad about the news.

Leaning towards sad.
I had the same yay-boo kinda thought.

A lot of folks that like the NA or non hybrid options, and while I’m all Team Clutch, I realize the vast majority of folks aren’t.

It almost kills the v6 - but that’s more or less what Jeep is after; to push people to the hybrid.

Stellantis already stopped shipment of all non-hybrid vehicles to CA unless they are special ordered

When the v6 goes away due to emissions requirements, the manual will die a coincidentally easy death at Jeep and their production efficiency will rise. Jeep will blame the emissions rules even tho they set themselves up for it as a cover.

That V6 with the M/T sucks. My 2.3 m/t is so much smoother and more responsive than my wife’s 22 Sahara with m/t.
I had a 2006 Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited with the Daimler 6-speed. Fantastic trans, but - oh, boy - the clutch pedal would wear your out after a long day of driving.

I enjoyed the Peugeot 5-speed in my 1987 Wrangler YJ even more. Great trans, easy clutch work. Peugeot!

So it's sad to read about your experience with the M/T Sahara.... Especially since I'm considering going back to an M/T Wrangler. Hmm.

I imagine this is almost entirely about raising fleet MPG by forcing more people into the 2.0L.
Which is why I think depending on the November election, they might reverse this.

Maybe it was the 4.88 gearing or that it was a 2 door but my M/T '22 Rubicon with the V6 shifted great, good clutch feel, nice and smooth. A little deep as expected on the 33's but would have been perfect had I upgraded to 35's which I intended to do before getting the Bronco.

Well, if I need a NEW truck, looks like Toyota is getting my $$$

Sucks to be Jeep, they could have simply put a real clutch instead of skimping out, then they'd have better results. Oh well, Japanese are happy with that

Why would you want anything to do with those problematic turbo engines?

When the v6 goes away due to emissions requirements, the manual will die a coincidentally easy death at Jeep and their production efficiency will rise. Jeep will blame the emissions rules even tho they set themselves up for it as a cover.
The whole offering a manual is a cover to keep the starting price low. The 8speed auto in the Jeep is a $4500 add on.

I’m not worried. Stellantis will go bankrupt first due to collapsing sales and garbage QC. New owners might fix the quality and pricing issues…

To be honest I would want the 2.0T over the 3.6. Having priced out jeeps wranglers for the last 10 years the turbo was a welcome addition till they limited the option to the 8 speed only. Only gotten worse with every ownership change. I couldn't afford a new jeep in the 2002-2005 period of the glorious inline 6, stretch wheelbase and early rubicon package. I do not see Jeep making anything ever touching the 2005 Unlimited 2 door Rubicon again.

Jeep Products are a luxury item that usually see terrible sales numbers during down years. Couple with this electrification trend that has manufactures not being able to weather the change(wishy washy on future products). The killing of value line vehicles that developed brand loyalty. We can go on and on about how well brand management is at Stellantis.

They need to hurry up and drop the 3.0 SO or HO in the Wrangler. I’d convince my wife to buy one and install a JB4 😁

Jeep never comes out with anything cool. The diesel wrangler would have been cool if you could get it in a 2 door with a manual. The 2.0T would have been cool if you could get it with a manual. The 392 would be sick in a 2 door with a manual.
