Go test drive an F150. I don't think there will be a bad gear/tire combo with the 2.7. 3.73 will be fine. I'm wondering if the 2 door sasquatch will pull a wheelie! o_O
So you wouldn't imagine going from 30" to 33" tires on a 2.7L with 3.73's would hurt acceleration enough to make it sluggish or a hindrance to drive? I know these are subjective words I'm using but I don't know how to quantify it.

Everything is relative but Ford says on the F150 you can still tow 8k pounds with the 2.7/10A with 3.73 gears and 33" tires so I'm sure it would be fine on the Bronco. To put things into perspective, the 10 speed has a 4.69 first gear whereas my previous F150 had a 2.84 first gear, 33" tires, and 3.73 gears. That truck did fine (even towing) but having the 10 speed first gear is like that truck having 6.16 axle gears! You might notice a decrease in acceleration the first day you swap from 30" to 33" tires but I certainly don't think it'll be sluggish!

I am putting this question here because it is relevant and is an active post at the moment.

I am going BL with the 33" tires. Do I stick with the 4.46 even if I may never go up in tire size or get the 4.7 because I can? I'm leaning getting the 4.7.

Yes, I know there are 10 speeds in the Auto tranny, not 2 or 3.
It was a simplication of axle ratios, and how it relates to the effect on the engine & pedaler. ? (Powerplant in general)

Thank you! It seems like this auto transmission is much better than the ones Ford made in the late 90s and 2000s. From the two overdrives to the steep first, it seems like it is versatile for different driving and gearing indeed. I'm excited. You an electrician? I am.

I am having a hard time deciding on the potential final gear ratio for primarly on-road use. This decision will guide trim level.

My build will be a daily driver and country road cruizer. I live in a hilly mid-atlantic region with all four seasons.

What would be your recommendation for best on-road ratio? 2.7 V6, auto, tire size would be stock 32. (largest would potentially option of 33 in the furture.) I am not even opposed to A/T p-rated tires for daily use and second set of M/T.

I have ran all of the gear ratio calculators. With the 10 speed auto trans, there are so many gears, the rpm's almost get self corrected.

My primary goal is fun to drive, acceleration with comfort. MPG is not really a concern. I currently get 12 mpg

Thanks for the help!
This shows mph for each trim at 1000rpm in high gear, based on tire diameter for each. Notice, for automatic there's optional 4.27 for BB and OBX vs 3.73 standard.
I think the decision you've already made, running 32s and maybe 33s, is more important for road manners than final gearing. The lower gears are really meant to help you go slow off-road, not to juice on-road acceleration. One big reason I'm not interested in Squatch is that is will be sluggish relative to smaller tire sizes. I'm getting Badlands and am even a bit concerned with 33s. I like to drive aggressive on road and I know the vehicle will be quicker with 32s. I will bet money that Base will accelerate fastest, then BB and OBX, then BD, then Badlands, then Squatch. The first three are road oriented. The smaller tire trims will accelerate quicker, brake faster and handle better through turns. They'll also be quieter.

What gear with 37’s would match the stock performance of a 4.7 with 35’s?

You forgot to include the crawler gear in the manual numbers

Crawler gear only works in Low gear and would never be used on-road, but in case you'd like to see low gear sppeds...

Thanks for putting those together! I thought with Crawler gear being on the transmission that it could be accessed in low or high gear. I have not seen anything saying otherwise unless I missed something.

I was hoping not, I plan on using the crawler gear on steep inclines at a stop. We have a few stop lights on a steep incline that I’d try it on
Yeah, I have some pretty steep inclines I drive on regularly I'm looking forward to using it on.
