3 year nav subscription -- for all GPS stuff or just the trail maps?

if you have the Mid package or higher you get Apple Car play. With Apple car play you can see your navigation phone apps on your screen

Right but is the sub for gps or the trail map social media thing?

Nothing has changed. You add the installed navigation for $695 and you have maps forever. Ford just added an option for lower trims to have a subscription based maps. Didn't not have that option in the past. You had to go all out high trims to get navigation.

From what I read it seems like the NAV package is for areas where your phone service isn't working.

I think there is some confusing on getting basic nav added to Sync which is how it is today in other vehicles and the additional subscription based off road maps provided most likely by 3rd party

I hope you are right but I believe you are wrong. It says 3 years included on the upgraded navigation information
