Fair enough, I did forget the front locker. However that doesn't change the fact that the Sasquatch package (as good of a deal as it is) is still 2x the cost of a budget lift and tires. That was my point. I wasn't trying to suggest that the sasquatch package wasn't worth it (plus I just woke up - cut me a small amount of slack for missing that locker).
Good morning sunshine: have some coffee. 😁

Be interesting to see if there are a rash of failures over time with the apparently decently high numbers of folks intending to go 33" and larger on the 190 pumpkin.
I think there was Ford Performance regear packages for the 190, but given the 33’s look pretty aggressive on a Badlands, and unless they are next to each other, it doesn’t seem that different than a Squatched Badlands, I would aim for 33’s and probably not regear.

As far as the lift, the budget boost video was complicated enough that I would eye up the upgraded (over standard) shock package from the performance parts catalog. I guess we don’t know how much lift that gives yet. Or finding Bilstein takeoffs.

I know there are a lot of trucks out there on the biggest tires that can be stuffed in the wheel well (and Jeeps), because that is what looks cool on the road. The thing is, for many that is the start of the journey through budget, then real lifts, next size up tires, and downstream regearing, etc. But—if you were getting 10AT already—Squatch is a real value, and Jeep offers nothing like it on Sport, Willys and Sahara, etc.

Im going to go with 275/70/r18 BFG A/T K02s when we get our OBX at the end of the month. It seems like they should fit just fine. The 32" A/Ts that come on the OBX just dont look right IMO.

OP on the master 33s will fit thread - if you plan on keeping stock rims, 11.2" width looks to be the max. You have more wiggle room on the height and could probably go to almost 34" as long as you stay within those width restraints. Keep in mind most 18" sized tires are E load. So If you really want to do it right, you should step down to aftermarket 17s to unlock C load tires. These costs obviously add up (in addition to the lower gearing expense) which I why I inevitably switched to sasquatch.

During my search the 'quick fix' is a 275/70r18 (stuck in E load) but 33.4x11.2 range, and boils down to Cooper AT3 XLT or Toyo ATIII. They are the lightest E loads with best reviews, but still an E load. Everything else in this 275/70r18 is either too heavy or too passive looks wise.

Sometimes the budget setup really isn't the budget setup, but if you are insisting on stay with the stock rims, I agree that the width will be the first limiting factor on tire size you are likely to hit. I still think that even with the +30 (vs +55) offset that I am pushing the limit with the 33.5x12.5's on the stock OBX suspension... however, I know how I can probably do an ultra low buck 1/3" to 1/2" lift in probably 30 mins (possibly without even removing the tires... I still need a Bronco to check those clearances, but 1/3"-1/2" seems like an easy proposition.

@mpeugeot how do you like your 355? I looked into them a couple years ago but talked myself out of it with the engine maintenance costs and melting dash.

Did you Look at the Cooper ATPII? That's what I ordered in 275/70/18. Lists tire height at 33.46. Tread pattern similar to AT3 and about 75 bucks a tire cheaper.

Well, I have been fortunate not to have a melting dash, but yes, the engine maintenance is a challenge. I have gotten rather good at removing and installing the rear subframe. This was my daily driver for several years, but now is undergoing some modifications to address many of the shortcomings that I have identified to bring the reliability up to the level that it could/should be at. So right now, the engine is out - I am replacing many of the pulley driven accessories with electric pumps (power steering, water pump, a/c compressor). The only belt driven accessory will be the alternator. It's also getting a new programable engine management system. So lots going on. Now, the upside, there is no vehicle with an easier to change clutch!!!

As far as the driving experience, ya, it's awesome to rev that 5 valve motor out to 8750 and let her scream.

Hello guys.

I'm pretty much set on a 2d outer banks, no options. (I think it's the best bangxbuck here in canada)

The only problem is those stupid minivan tires. Anyone on the same situation? Is it possible to swap to more aggressive 33s without a lift?
the 2 door and 4 are the same. This is with 17 285/70. No rub totally fine. I just got my leveling kit but have not installed it. With the leveling kit they sat up to 35. Have had them on for 300 miles no concerns

What are the offset of those wheels? (That's going to be relevant when talking about tire size compatibility.)

Speaking of which, the Milestar Patagonia M/T is a beastly tire at 64lbs. The RTR Tech 6 rims 17x9 +30 are 26lbs. Making each corner weigh in at 90lbs. So it's a bit stout for the M190 (if it was a locker), but as an open differential, I am a little less worried.

Still, that's probably somewhere north of 20lbs per wheel more than the factory OBX wheel and tire. (70lbs per corner, assuming 43lbs per tire and 27lbs per rim). The Cooper is 54lbs and the Toyo is about 50lbs in 275/70R18. 81lbs per corner for the Cooper and 77lbs per corner for the Toyo. Compared with the Toyo and the Cooper, my 33.5"x12.5" Milestar Patagonia M/T's are 9-13lbs heavier per corner over a 33.4"x11.2" option.

If you do that you only gain .6" in height and you get E range which will ride like a truck.

LT255/70r/18 in A/T KO2 is 32" tall and D range.

Guess I never thought of it that way. Was just trying to get a more beefy looking tire than the ATs that come from the factory.
