Not ordering tires now. But Rolls into my decision to get OBX or Badlands. Or possibly even OBX sas. So I technically have until late January to figure out. But sounds like even if it doesn’t fit there are workarounds such as a spacer or swap the rims with a different offset rim, and figure out tires from there. As long as I could avoid a costly suspension modification.

Ok, I built two similar 2door Broncos, an OBX and a Badlands. They both have a 2.7L, 4.27 gearing, hd bumper and front bash plate , aux switches and locking rear diff.
With a $1400 price tag for 5 Nitto Ridge grapplers, the OBX is $1700 cheaper. Assume one can recover $500 for the factory tires, it’s a difference of $2,200.

The Badlands offers dark MGV, rubber floors, front locker, electronic sway bar disconnect.

Personally, I could probably live without the front lockers and sbd. As nice as the MGV seems, I think I’d be better off using the $2200 towards fog lights and Bimini top.

If I missed anything, let me know. OP, thank you for figuring out this option for us. ?? {virtual fist bump}

Edit because I don’t math very good.

OBX has the option for a 4.27 rear locker, while the badlands will be 4.46 with the auto. They don't have the same ratios if you compare those models.

Thanks for the great info. I am getting a OBX auto trans with the 3.73 open rear axle. will the 275/70/R18’s work well with this gear ratio or should I go with the 4.27. Most of my driving will be street travels. Thanks
I have the same thoughts in mind and as insurance to not be under geared I am ordering the 4.27 gear set. The .636 10th gear overdrive ratio still ensures a reasonable street gearing even with the stock 255 tires

Asking from a position of ignorance, is this enough of a difference in either on road or off road scenarios to matter?

It’s not solved yet. Still need to confirm control arm and steering knuckle clearance. Unless the control arm is for some reason longer on the non sasquatch suspension, or Fords track dimensions are inaccurate, then the numbers are telling us this tire will most likely fit.

I guess the easiest way to go about it is finding a big bend or OBX and seeing how many fingers you could fit between the back of the stock tire and upper control arm/steering knuckle

thanks again

every dimension here is from Ford or the tire manufacturer, I’m able to back into the rest given the track, overall width etc. Big focus here is the depth of the tire, not the width.
OK, so you're saying you think putting a Badlands-sized wheel and tire on the Outer Banks should be doable? That is, 285/70/17 all-terrains? I would swap out those with the stock 18s for off-road use.

In terms of clearing wheel well, the answer seems to be yes. But for a narrower 10.8” not 11.2” wide tire. But we now need to confirm whether the control arm is shared w Sasquatch or is it longer. We don’t have backspacing confirmed so hoping it clears suspension

More math. Kind of getting over my skis here so take it with a grain of salt. Purely estimates. This is all propped up by the assumption the the control arms are the same in Sasquatch vs non Sasquatch

Biggest tire size I've ever driven is 19" ? I'm wondering if the Sasquatch Badlands tires are unbearable on the freeway, is it as simple as throwing on 33"s and calling it a day? Will my odometer be off? Will my Bronco burst into flames?

Awesome thanks! Although black diamond is on a modified Sasquatch HOSS suspension so not sure how telling that will be for a big bend / OBX, but any info helps!
