Anyone riding with this setup? I know 35s and 3.73 can kinda blow on the highway and offroad but has anyone combed these three all together?

I have a 3.73 and thinking about going 35s with Ford 2 inch lift kit as well as the tune. Any thoughts?

I originally thought it would be an issue, but with the 10 gears in the auto trans, maybe it's not such a big deal. Meaning the trans can probably compensate by less use of the top overdrive gears, since there are so many to play with. And on the flip side, not everyone requires super low crawl ratios, which would effectively be reduced by the larger tires.

Maybe that explains why some people are going bigger with auto trans and not much issue as would occur in earlier vehicles with fewer gears.

2.3 or 2.7l?

Use a gear calculator. I played around with one before I decided to go 3.73s.

I run 33s now, and am moving to 34s.

35s are OK for 3.73s, but I'd prefer 4.27. The 10 speed really helps there. Just make sure you recalibrate the computer, so the speedo and trans are happy.

2.3l. Also this is 99% pavement road and highway. Work and back. Only "offroad" is going to be the occasional gravel road gun range and going to the lake to look cool with top off.

This is also a 24 BB

Others have off-roaded with the 2.3, 35's, and 3.73 and survived... It's less of a big deal than people make of it. It's not optimal, but the Ford Performance Tune will help bridge the difference as well. Keep the rotating weight as low as possible for best results, so consider a lighter 35 even if it means selecting a narrower profile.

I was eyeing the KO3 in 315/70/17. Any recommendations? I live in south texas so it's just hot and little rainy

I've got this setup on our '21 BB 2 door, but with 37" KM3's. I run it in Sport mode 100% of the time on pavement and have been very happy with it. Mileage isn't terrible at all.

BFG website shows 70lbs a piece for these. I would not run these with 3.73
Sasquatch GY's are 52lbs for comparison

zero issues running 35's on our big bend with 3.73's. it is quite peppy, and holds its own offroad too
