Just picked up our 22 Bronco O/B, the First stop of us is to add a set of 35s on the rig. I’ve understood they will fit without a lift but am a little skeptical, I imagine rubbing would occur. Look at the 2” Rough County system thinking this would do the trick, any one got wisdom to offer in this case? Lift - nO lift & is the RV 2” gonna do the trick? Thanks.

If you have the correct offset(probably +/- 0) you'll be able to get away without a lift/leveling kit.

I recommend spending the $150? On the Rough Country and protecting any potential rubbing in the future

The biggest I could fit was 275/70 R18. 275/75 no go. 33.2 inches.

Just put 35's this past weekend. Took the back roads home, almost 50 mile drive. Zero issues, no rub, smooth ride 3.73 rear gears, 2.3l, no lift or spacers...bone stock.

My OBX with 315/70R17 KO2’s on RTR +30, 1” Zone level kit front, removed crash bars (JIC). 2” lift is not necessary if offset is similar to SAS.

Similar setup for me. Non-sas OBX with 315/70/17 Falken Wildpeaks on Sasquatch (+30)take offs I bought locally. It's at the shop right now for a 1.2" front lift only. Crash bars removed and zero rubbing or issues with the light to moderate off roading I've done so far.

This photo is without the lift. I'll post another tomorrow with the front lifted.

You only need 1" to recover 90% of the articulation, 2" will make the ride rougher.

Did you notice a change in power/response goi g to the 35s?

I regret not getting the higher gearing on my 2.3L OBX and am anxious about what size tire to jump to.

Your build is very different from mine, but for us 4cyl manual guys with 4.46 gears ... on a do over I'd go smaller than 35's.
An actual 33 or the 285/70 would be the sweet spot for these gears.

The 2.7 and auto may handle 35's really well, but for my 2.3 manual, top gear became totally useless, even at Interstate speeds. It forces the motor into boost to maintain 78 mph and fuel mileage plummets.

Drop into 5th, 78mph = 2700 rpm, stays out of boost, fuel mileage goes back up to CLOSE to what it got stock.

*** just looked at the build specs for a 2.7 Badlands ... auto and 4.46 gears .... now that will be VERY interesting with 35's!!!
You have to do it and report back !!!
They have a bit more hum than other AT's I have ran, but they are far more aggressive than those others.
They have been fine for me otherwise, snow, rain, etc. No major offroading yet.

They do not tend to hold gravel like the Goodyears I keep reading about. Those sound really bad. I've been on miles of gravel, yeah, there's always going to be some, but I don't think it was bad at all.

First Toyos , I was nervous, but they balanced out well and roll out smooth as silk. Have about 4k on them so far.

I referenced the charts and aired down to 32 or 33 (cold) and they ride really well at that level. But if it warms up outside and they rise to 35/36-ish, they stiffen up noticeably.

Thanks for all the feedback, will surely research the best set up for our build given all the feedback. Really excited to see where this adventure takes us. Will definitely update as we go but this is how she looks driving off the truck.

I regret not getting the higher gearing on my 2.3L OBX and am anxious about what size tire to jump to.

I noticed off the line the car was slower, and in sports mode it holds the shifts a tad bit longer now. But in all honesty I'm already getting used to it. And the differences are not very noticeable, when driving the boost is a bit higher but rpms are pretty much the same still. I assume thats because of my rear end.

You know, another thing I didn't buy the Bronco to be a sports car. So I dont expect that level of preformance from it.

I will say the car feels a bit more rigid now, which is a huge plus for me, with the stock tires the car felt like it was floating sometimes.

I have a 53 merc with a 4.11 rear end and its awesome in the city, but on a cruise its just a mess. 3.73 on the Bronco is perfect for long drives. And if I'm doing more city driving I just leave it in sports mode.

Did you have to do anything to augment the tire carrier with the larger tires?

Sorry for waking up an post.
