3rd Brake Light / Chase Light Custom DIY Setup - When off the shelf isn't good enough

Not being able to find a solution off the shelf to fit my needs, I decided to construct my own setup to solve the problem.

Details

- Baja Design S2 Pro with flood lens on outers
- installed my acumen mirror rear flush mount camera in center on one side
- designed and 3d printed mount for camera and baja designs rock light on other center opening
- Made the brake LEDs 2 stage (on with running lights, increase in brightness when brakes applied)(just like oem on my bronco raptor)
- 3d printed a housing cover over rear dt connector
- added nmo mount for vhf radio
- all wiring done with high grade txl wire
- black titanium bolts

The way i have mine setup is independent control of the outer pair of lights and inner light. so for example, i can flash/strobe the center while outsides are solid, or any other combo i want to set up.

This isnt the factory reverse camera, this is the rear camera for my acumen legend mirror

You should start selling these. I’m trying to figure out the best way to mount my Wolfbox camera and thus just might be it! How much did this setup cost you?

I used a pulse width modulator wired to the lights and fit into the housing.

here is where i mounted the acumen box: modified the sdsq switchpros mount for underhood/inner fender mounting of the acumen box, added techflex to the wiring harness to replace the cheap tape, and pinned the harness for single dt connector.

Where did you tap into to power the acumen mirror? Mine will sometimes turn on randomly when the car is off and I wonder if it’s the fuse I tapped into

The ACC wire I have running to fuse 35. This is a spare so nothing to be concerned about.

The B+ wire/fuse tap is running to fuse 25. Which is also a spare so nothing to worry about.

Thought Id share this in terms of the wiring. I have never been a fan of cutting oem wiring. Given the 3rd brake light plug is a ford proprietary molex mx150. i depinned the factory one, bought mx150 pins, and re pinned for the brake light and running light
