Quieter? Why be quiet?

It's not like SFPD are going to do anything if they hear or see a vehicle break-in, and all the city residents have already learned to tune out car alarms.
Not everyone is a scared child. ??‍♂

I'm pretty sure if you stopped a vehicle break in in SF you'd be charged with a hate crime by Cheesy Boudin.

I'm going modular hard top. Preferably body color but possibly black. Will probably grab a Bimini top for the summer to provide some shade.

I was pretty much dead set on hard top and for the most part will probably still go hard top. But seeing the soft tops lately on the closer to production units has me possibly reconsidering.

I just don't know if I trust the durability of a soft top. Especially when I see jeep softtops that look like hell

if it's true that all wiring and plumbing is there I'll go with soft top only, so much easier to deal with, no panels to store or not have with me. With some care it should look good for a long time. Sure, eventually it will have to be replaced, after market might have some interesting options by then or I'll get a HT either used or new down the road.
I'll mainly be driving around town, trails are quite a ways away, so the convertible part will get much more use than the off road part. And it'll be nice on those 100+ degree days to be able to just close it back up before getting fried to a crisp w/o having to go back home to the garage. Same in the mountains once the mosquitoes (my arch enemy) come out.

Still pending B&P info, the dual top price from the survey was a bit crazy IMO.

Hard top from Ford, bikini top from aftermarket later on
Yes... hopefully it gets delivered in fall 2021. Will give some extra time for summer 2022 bikini top shopping.
Also hope aftermarket comes with sun shade solutions by summer 2022.
A delivery in summer 2021 would be annoying for finding bikini that fast after Bronco release!

I have the 4-door soft top and I love it, but I'm only 30 minutes from the coast of CA. If I didn't live so close to the coast, I'd go with a hard top because I get a lot of noise with the soft top. Rattling - and the windows are kind of a pain to take on and off. Doubt I'll ever deal with taking on/off the heavy doors, though I like having the option to, if I so choose. For the beach though...the soft top is the deal. Taking my 17 year old son to Pismo dunes in June!
