Off topic but since yous brought it up .............. then I will go play in the corner

When I saw were Ford put the IC I was like.

IMO, best option is high mount the IC and put the winch where the IC was. I have not noticed any change in engine temp in the 7K I have put on it.

IMG_0596.JPG

Then you can tuck the winch in for a much better approach angle.

IMG_3257.JPG

You can tuck it in there even more if you use a small drum winch or the Warn RC. It is a 9.5 winch that is only 17" wide and will fit between the IC tubes. Using this winch will put it behind the frame horns. Can't get much better on approach angle then. :ROFLMAO:

Sorry for hacking your thread Tricky. šŸ˜
Soooooooooo much better than the atrocity we slapped on top of our modular bumper. Only thing better Iā€™ve seen was a custom job somebody shared to the forum and I want to say the estimated labor was $10k or something crazy like that.

On the topic of inflationā€¦uhmmm-hereā€™s two girls with one hose not using the fuel door solution.

Agree with this sentiment. 4-wayā€™s are far too bulky and obnoxious to be that useful.. itā€™s kinda like (watching my wife) carry the groceries in all at once vs. two easier trips. A good 1 or 2 way system isnā€™t really much slower and way more practical. Itā€™s more about the right compressor IMO.. which spoiler alert - Northern tool sells
Exact same conclusion here by the 10th or so outing this year with the 4 way: running an under-body twin ARB with tank and a hidden connector, the single ARB hose is knocking out air-up of 35s faster and with less packing up vs. the 4 way (which is going in the swap meet pile).

Using the timer method can vary with altitude and temp. But it gets us close.

Threw a set on these on as a final tool to make life easier:

Very cool. Might have to copy that.

How and where to is your hose routed?
Our setup is a lil different. 4G fused wire ran to a distribution block in the rear. 8G with factory fuses ran to the compressor in the storage area under the toolbox. Check valve right off compressor then tied into (two) 2.8 gallon air tanks routed to a tee that sends air to the back panel of the toolbox and out to the fuel door.

I realllllllllllly donā€™t like how much our front winch sticks out, especially with how chincey the mounts are. But also didnā€™t like how low the hidden winch mounts were. Doing it over again Iā€™m not sure if Iā€™d still go with the front winch-just stick with the back.

I agree. I didn't like any of the other options at all.
I ended up doing a hidden setup by modifying the RC hidden winch cradle so it sits higher. The intercooler is the Wagner Tuning high-mount. I really like it. I need to do a post with all of this.

Ford Bronco 4 way hoses are old news... built a permanent on-board air hose 1000008166

For related interest, here is a permanent air up / air down manifold setup with rotary unions at the center of each wheel.

This is in Iceland where nearly zero trees or brush exist, unlike for me here in the East Coast, where these rubbing connections would get caught on everything!

They are all connected to manual 1/4 turn manifolded valves, compressor switch set, and deflate circuit with pressure gage mounted to the center console area.

Between deep snow in winters, and overlanding on a sheep farm in the fjords, a petty convenient setup!

Cool. Does the air hose from the tank to near the fuel fill stay inside the vehicle or does it have to feed through body metal?

Took it through a grommet thatā€™s now covered by the toolbox. Itā€™s under the floor right next to the plastic paneling, maybe halfway along the longest section of panel. (Does that make sense? šŸ¤”) Not sure if it was factory or if we put it in there but Iā€™m pretty sure it was factory

This is freaking sweet. I read some comments about fixing a problem that didnā€™t exist and I couldnā€™t disagree more. Pulling out a 4 way air hose sucks. Having air at each tire is freaking dope!!
Having air at each tire is VERY convenient. One of the best things Iā€™ve done to my bronco was run lines to each wheel. Routed along the top of the frame and in some areas inside the frame. Very quick for me to snap my short lines to each wheel and hit a button on my phone to automatically air up. I can also air up multiple vehicles from each of the air hookups at the same time.

Nice! I'm hoping to put together something similar on my Bronco and have been trying to think of smart places for the couplers.

Have you noticed uneven filling in the tires with the main line going down the passenger side? I was chatting with someone that races her bronco and she said she noticed this with her 4 way inflator when one side was longer than the other.

WOW! Is this to help because you have larger tires, or are you running other air accessories?

The larger tires and location of the compressor. Was worried about heat being stored under the toolbox like that, so when weā€™re maybe 10-20 minutes from airing back up the compressor is kicked on to fill up the tanks to give it time to cool down before hitting the tires. We havenā€™t measured temps after airing up the 40ā€™s but with factory wrangler tires we aired up all four from 8 to 35 psi then all four of a wrangler from 22-35 or so and the max temp I could find was 189F right at the outlet. We also have the intake lines on the outside of that toolbox, teeā€™d together and 3/8ā€ hose routed back up behind the panels inside the bronco so itā€™s always pulling in cool, clean air. The cooling fan from the factory literally blows the hot air right into the intakes and isnā€™t exactly ideal, especially in a compact storage area.

Airing up the 40ā€™s in Moab at about 102F we did have it kick itself off once on the last tire. Clearly got hotter than 189F but not sure what that number is. Only took about a minute before it turned back on. That was the fourth air up of the trip. Still tossing around the idea of Peltier effect for cooling but havenā€™t seriously gone down that rabbit hole yet.
