For anyone on the fence about doing their own oil change with the 2.3, do it!

Ridiculously easy. The hardest part was getting the 6 plastic skid plate bolts out, which took longer than draining the oil itself haha. I followed @BudgetBronco 's tutorial on youtube, which was the easily best one I've watched.

For the filter location, it was easily accessible with the truck on the ground & wheel locked far right. I used a few extensions & popped off the quick release fender for even closer clearance. Love the trough, well thought out.

Also, don't forget to flat foot crank (hold clutch and gas fully down & hit the start button) to get all the oil throughout the engine. Great feature.

Thanks for linking that, Mo! Do you have a manual or an automatic transmission?

No problem! I have a manual transmission.
Ahh OK yes I see that now in your post you mentioned the clutch. I was hoping to have somebody verify that the crank procedure for the Automatic trans is how I described it. If anybody reading this wants to confirm it: press the brake and gas all the way and hold while hitting start, should cycle the engine for 5 seconds without firing

Hey Tim, just stumbled upon this video on youtube. At the 6 minute mark, it confirms the Automatic flat foot crank procedure

OK great, ya that confirms it. He removes the loosens the filter from underneath...that looks harder even with the truck on a lift.

Just FYI, every fuel injected Ford going back to the late 80’s will not start if your foot is holding the throttle pedal to the floor during crank; this isn’t new to the Bronco.

Good to know, thanks! My first Ford product, so this is all new to me. My previous Toyotas never had such a feature.
