Polaris sold TAP, (Transamerican Auto Parts, Parent of 4wd.com and 4wps) last year, TAP has been slowly closing and selling underperforming stores since.

Not that I've heard of, but the closing of stores normally doesn't bode well for a company's continued business, and I do think that should be a part of your considerations.

I think it's a valid concern.... Even if 4wp continues in business, "warranty" on a product like a UCA is gonna be a part swap with them, If they are on the ropes for Money, They'll start discontinuing specialty products. As long as they are still in business, you'd still be able to get a refund, But not a replacement if they don't have them.

3 area 4WP locations in KC area have been run through the ringer here. One location at a very high traffic location just up and closed 6 months ago. The other two locations were sold off about 3-4 weeks ago and have already undergone a name change - Toys for Trucks??? Has some relationship with 4WP it seems, as you apply for a job through the 4WP website. Seems odd.

Was just talking about this with my neighbor who's in a director position at ORW, he said they were bought out by Wheel Pros and will most likely be dismantled.

It's a typical corporate aquisition story, all of the 'divisions' will undergo change, some will survive, some will disappear.
