Great stuff. I live in Rockland and have been planning that trip for the fall. Did you see the B-52 crash site? I want to see that and those locomotives. Can’t wait. Thanks for sharing it all!
I think it would be awesome to check out in the fall.

Not on this trip but I did go to the B-52 crash site several years ago. I forgot that was there till I was on the way out and saw a sign for it.

We wanted to go to the Ice caves, but the road was closed. We never made it to the B-52's. I am originally from western Mass., I miss the New England fall colors.

Thanks for sharing looked like an awesome time. When I did the off-roadeo in NH, I was talking to Hank and we got on topic about the north maine woods. Pretty cool to see your pictures from there it looks beautiful.

Yeah it's a cool trip for sure. Hopefully you can do it someday. Just do lots of research and map everything ahead of time for offline use.

What did you use for window screens? I can’t believe no aftermarket solutions for that yet. I sleep in the back often and could really use something solid.

North Woods of Maine are absolutely beautiful. We don’t rough it that much but we travel full time in a 26’ motorhome flat towing our Bronco. The pic is our Bronco at north end of Moosehead Lake. We camped there and explored the area for 23 days last year.

Shhh!……….don’t tell anyone about Maine!
Was lucky enough to be introduced to this great place in the 1970ss as a graduate student, with recurring trips since.

Any one asks?….it’s full of mosquitoes, black flies, bears, and standoffish residents! 😉

Been there several times over the years.
It's so beautiful and tranquil up there.
Gone camping, hiking, including canoeing Moosehead Lake, as well as drive the backcountry.
Was just up there in October of 2022.

Oh, and climbed Mount Katahdin a couple of times.

Thanks for the flashback. It sounds like you enjoyed the ride and the experience. I made a trip to the Allegash in 1988 in a Suzuki Samurai with a 17' foot canoe strapped on to it. I remember dodging a few logging trucks and moose. Where are the moose photos?

I used to use these and they worked great but stopped using them as there was no good place to store them with all the other gear I take.

Lately had just been having the window down a tiny bit and that was fine enough.

For this one night I dropped the window all the way and just draped over a big bug net, set some rocks on the roof to hold it on. Worked great.

That's awesome you got to spend so much time there! Thats about how long I spent in Maine total and then about 10 days driving up and back.
