Every time someone mentions a broken windshield, I wonder....why didn't you do this?

Out in the desert a single, couple second encounter with a mini sand "storm" significantly pitted my wind shield with 100% coverage. When driving into the sun my visibility is significantly compromised now. Given the expense of replacement and associated cost of calibrating affected sensors, this looks like a great investment.

What would be the outcome had I had your product installed? Nothing, need to replace the film or something in between?

We had a similar product installed on our Braptor at dealer. 2 cracks in 1 year or less, plus due to one wiper being at a non-vertical angle the wiper blade action scuffed the film and reduced visibility. The only reason I purchased it in the first place was a warranty with a $200 deductible for windshield replacements for 3 years. Then when push came to shove the crack had to be less than the length of a dollar bill. The film we had installed was Resistall windshield protection. Not the OP's product.

Great question!

This is really going to depend on the user. Everyone has a different level of acceptable wear, even on their bare glass. Some drivers go months before changing a cracked windshield, some book in for repair the moment something damages the glass.

When it comes to windshield protection film like ULTRA, the way to get the longest useable lifespan is through maintenance. If you're going somewhere like you mentioned, that has a lot of dust and debris, pack accordingly! Bring some extra rags and tint safe glass cleaner (or soapy water) to wipe off buildup.

To answer your question, ULTRA is designed to perform in situations just like the one you highlighted. Will you see similar wear over time? Yes. Will it happen in one trip... It's very unlikely. WE see an average of 18-24 months of use. The thing is, to replace our film is $199, and on average these windshields are over $1,000USD to replace.

Since our original film hit the market in 2018 there have been a few companies to pop up with their version of windshield protection film. ULTRA is the only 8mil film built for Bronco + Jeep windshields!
