Just take a look at Facebook marketplace and craigslist. You'll find hundreds of Broncos with less than 500 to 2000 miles being sold by scalpers who really didn't want a Bronco but hope to get more than what they paid by people who have too much money burning holes in their pockets.
I just hope it just sits on their hands and they eventually have to sell at a loss to get rid of them.

Dont do it. They are lying. I'm buying my vehicle from out of state for under invoice.
It may cost an extra 1-2 hundred bucks if the dealer uses an outside service to get you Tenn tags, but the rest is dealer bs. Press them if it's a state law or just dealer policy..... hope they at least answer you honestly, and maybe they'll drop the markup.

Lol,”policy”….. yeah its that dealers policy to screw you. Walk away. Ive bought many vehicles out of state. To get it cheaper! They know they can sell it locally for price you thought you were getting. They could care less if you walk away.

Thanks all for the input here. We weren't sure if this was predatory or just common practice in the world after covid. I appreciate all the input and personal details here. Just a disappointing process.
This is basically the approach we took. We probably could have tried to question/probe the "required" fees for a reduction but at the end of the day we lost respect for the dealer.
Right thing to do! Its the only way these guys will learn to stop falsehoods and cheating. I would never buy from a liar. Imagine what a dealer like that does with a serious warranty claim.....

To get the truck I wanted at MSRP, I would title it Maine and then immediately switch it to Tennessee once everything was in hand.
My state deducts any sales tax charged in another state from sales tax due here. I assume they all do this (My state isn’t one to pass up an opportunity to take your money).
