I am stepping aside, it took me 5 weeks to get this from a tool and die shop I have bought $1.3M from in a year before. I know what people expect on this forum and rightly so. This is just not his cup of tea. I hope Boomba can help you guys. If not I will follow and we will see then.

I'm one of the people who ordered the Chisel shift knob + the lockout and got stiffed on both. I'm hoping to get something custom made as I'm not a fan of the look of what's out there (Twisters, Boomba, etc. - no offense to them, sure they're great products).

How does one go about asking a shop to make something custom? Is this a thing a person who has a prior business relationship can get them to do?

Yes I have a 25 year relationship with the owner of the shop. Typically someone like he would not do this kind of thing he is business to business. He made me several items over the years for my heep

If you are getting a batch together post some details - I bet there's a lot more interested than are just following this thread. I know I'd be interested if there's a group order going out. That or if a typical manufacturer is going to commit to bringing this to market.

He is a job shop. Day in day out he makes items to order. He does not do a “manufacturing run” to sell from stock.
