I have the factory trailer package on my Badlands, and I was wondering if the 7 pin outlet is always "hot" - When the vehicle is fully off, does power still flow to this?

I'm looking at installing an AUX light on my utility trailer, and was hoping I could utilize this 7 pin outlet to power the light. I don't want to wire something up to my AUX switches in the Bronco, as I can simply plug in an AUX light and flick a switch.

Any suggestions for connectors to use that may make this simple, or feedback on this would be appreciated. Thanks!

It is not always hot, that is controlled by a relay in the trailer control module.

This is located in the driver's side rear panel in back.
You could jump out the line and load side of that relay if you really wanted too.

Thanks.

So even if the vehicle needs to be on, isn't the end of the world for my use. Are there any 7 pin connectors/adaptors that would be helpful for installing some AUX lights? Think of a small light bar or a pair of pod lights on the front of my trailer to illuminate the bed while loading at night.

You can buy any trailer plug from your local auto parts store, made to replace the end on your trailer. It has screw terminals. Crimp on ring terminals if you like, or just tighten them down with the screw. I've ran a small air compressor with an adapter to this signal.

I have ran a jumper where the relay is on my 2011 F150. Its hot 100% of the time. Works well.
