Assuming the technology continues to improve at its current pace, the EV outlined here has a good chance to be my current Bronco replacement in 5-6 years. I own both an EV and Bronco currently and adore both for different reasons.

No hybrid? What a waste, an electric car is fine for city use but no thanks for living out here nor going any great distance.
You have to assume the tech will improve in 8 years.

Assuming Ford continues to delay my build, I may get one by then!

I'll be interested in other manufacturers EV offroaders. You'd have to be an idiot to suffer through another Bronco launch IMO.

We live in unprecedented times with turbulent product launches, resource & supply restrictions, not to mention an incoming paradigm shift into electric vehicles which is highly dependent on polarized & fickle politics...

TL;DR - I don't know how anyone can accurately predict this stuff.

Not really. There is unlikely to be a magic battery made that will be an actual replacement for distance and/or the ease of filling a gas tank quickly.
My 2014 Volt takes 4 hours to add 30-40 miles of range to the battery at maximum allowed voltage of 220v(it also has a gasoline engine), the 2022 Hyundai Ionic 5 takes 18 minutes to add over 200 miles to the battery.

This is literally how much EV battery technology has improved in 8 years...

I don't think anyone is trying to predict anything and there won't certainly be a huge shift, it'll be very gradual. Technologies live together for years until the one less accepted is phased out. Think 2 stroke vs. 4 stroke engines, or incandescent vs. LED headlights.
