Last year at Corvette plantI just noticed this in Ford’s sales report PDF for last month... they reported building 99 Broncos at Michigan Assembly Plant.
Thought it was interesting that they include preproduction units in the stats.
These are preproduction vehicles for sure, however, some preproduction vehicles are given valid vin numbers. These will be driven by various employees and then sold to employees or as program vehicles (with enough mileage they qualify as used program cars). This is exactly what Chevy did with the new Corvettes. They built somewhere around 800 cars before production number one. Some had xx in the vin, those slated for dismantle, but later ones had valid vin #'s and are offered to GM (gm) employees first. They put enough miles on them to qualify as used program cars. This is true, I somewhat doubt this “99” are those.
Yeah, it's unlikely that the FCTP loaners will be shipped to dealers until after the first full-rate production vehicles come off the line at MAP. Probably June (maybe late May) at the earliest.
That’s what I am expecting. Bronco Sport mannequin units were out a few weeks before we received our first stock units. Assume Bronco may be similar. Still waiting on Mach-E....
I think they have demand. My sister ordered a Sport FE and it still hasn't been built.
