A bird in the hand? Buy one off the lot instead of waiting for my order?

Do you know for certain it is available? A lot/most of them advertised on auto trader and such are already reserved or ones they are waiting to come in. If the color wouldn't bother you I would go for it. I have been looking and checking with dealerships too knowing the wait will otherwise be long.

I would never, ever, own a black car on purpose.
I’ve been there before, it wasn’t that bad. But now curious about something I know little about: vinyl wraps.

OP is in NY so at least the heat factor of black is reduced

I'm very picky about keeping things shiny and hesitated a long time before going carbonized gray

With black, one bad wash/dry and you get to live with endless hairline streaks in your clearcoat instantly

Also black being probably the hardest color to keep clean in first place

x2 if offroading - washing must be done very carefully to prevent streaking

If OP has the coin for wraps (and I do mean more than one if they plan on owning the vehicle for a significant amount of time), who cares?!

So with my late reservation dates, my Bronco is at least 6 months away. But I have found a Bronco for sale that is most likely a cancelled order. I love the trim, transmission, level of convenience package, and number of doors. The asking price seems to be nominally over MSRP, but I’m not in love with the color.
The pros:
-I get a Bronco this summer!
-I don’t have to drive that far to get it
-I’ve done business with this dealership before and I think I could get a great trade in value on my Tundra
-by trading in my truck I’d save a bit on taxes

cons:
it’s not a “below invoice” deal like I’m set up with.
Shadow Black is not my favorite.

So, 6G Hivemind, help me out here. How much more is it worth to get a Bronco ASAP compared to next spring?
I would consider doing it now Your Tundra trade in value likely won’t be as high as it is now

Bingo. Despite it being advertised on the actual dealership's webpage, with photos of it at the actual dealership, I was just informed it was never available and its a customer's order.

Shut this down.
