Anyone have experience or know the best way to rout a wire up the a-pillar? My GMRS radio has a detachable faceplate and I’d like to install it up near the aux switches, but im hesitant to run a relatively thick cat-5 cable up the a-pillar due to possible airbag interference. Tips or best practices appreciated!

You Tube is your friend. There are at least a couple videos showing the process...fairly invasive but possible.

Yeah, I saw the video of how to take the trim off. I’m asking about the reality of running a cable near the airbag itself inside the trim, or maybe tucked in between the trim and the windshield and how that may or may not affect airbag performance.

If I recall from the video there is ample space to run a wire up the pillar inside the trim w/o impacting the airbag.

There will already be all sorts of wiring going up the A-pillar. Follow the path of what is there and it shouldn't be an issue.
