I averaged 26mpg in my 2.7 F150. Not

I averaged 26mpg highway in my 2.7 F-150 4x4. And that was with the 6 speed transmission. No reason the Bronco shouldn't. Of course the Sasquatch package will affect that I'm sure.

Hey, if we get 26mpg I'll be grinning from ear to ear. If it doesn't though, I wont be surprised or upset about it. Anything over 20 in an offroad vehicle is great for me.

25mpg??? Sign me up for that!!
Where is this number coming from? Not seeing it except popping up in this thread a few times. Seems to violate laws of physics. 2 door stock Wrangler Sports with manual and highway tires can maybe get about that (well some owners say they can - not sure I really believe them unless they only drive downhill in neutral), but 4 door with AT tires I don't think can do better than 20-21ish stock and much much less than that lifted with 35's. 4runners get like 17 mixed... Filing cabinet aerodynamics and chunky tires don't roll down the road very easily.

If you want creature comforts buy a Grand Wagoneer or Expedition, but when you get stuck in the sand 50 feet of the road, look for a Sahara/Wildtrak with a kinetic rope....

Lol I know I was making fun of the 25mpg because that would be awesome in a car like this.

Iā€™m wondering where all the awe and wonder of the Bronco has gone in this forum. People complaining about rear air vents, fold-flat but not level with cargo area seat debacle, navy-pier seats, MIC grey instead of black tops, the list goes on. Itā€™s a shame really.

Iā€˜m just excited to get a cool vehicle that I can drive around without a top and go places my M3 canā€™t. Really looking forward to it!

Before the Bronco was revealed, I was looking for a convertible, so I am super pleased the Bronco has come along. No deal breakers so far as I can tell!

Well, the price for a loaded one is expected to approach luxury off-road price, so a level of quality features should be expected. If we were talking about a 30k vice 55k rig then I would agree with you. But let's not kid ourselves into thinking the bronco is some kind of poor man's utilitarian off-road vehicle. It's an expensive machine.
I'm planning on sending around 30k for the base model 2 door manual trans version. And I'm liking a lot (with reservations until I see in person and test drive) most everything about this vehicle. 30k is still high in my book, but I can live with that. Kudos to Ford for coming through with a rugged open top 4x4 at that price.

And I buy things with attributes I will actually use. I don't buy for appearances or some feeling. So I will use the off-road features off-road, and the open top feature a lot on and off road. Probably luxury buyers should buy a different SUV. But I hope they buy the Bronco, so it sells well and Ford keeps making them, and maybe then even some other vehicle makers want to get in the game.

Amen. Finally we have another Wrangler class vehicle, instead of just another SUV. Ecstatic about that. (Even though it took Ford a ridiculous 37 years to bring it back.)

I think some people wanting a luxury appointed vehicle out of this will be disappointed and are somewhat barking up the wrong tree. And they will be complaining about wind noise and leaks due to the soft top and modular hardtop.

Maybe some people are drawn in by the Bronco image, but functionally really want something else with normal SUV characteristics. There are so many other SUVs already that meet pavement and luxury desires, thankfully Bronco offers something different.

The Raptor is designed to the baddest production off road truck ever. To my surprised, it is the most comfortable badass truck I have ever owned.

I think the Bronco will also be a pleasant surprise

:)
I was assuming (hoping) that the 2021 four door OBX with Sasq or BL w/o Sasq would be a compromise between my 1990 bronco and a current wrangler regarding ride experience. I currently drive a 2wd '16 f-150 and get decent highway mileage and hope the bronco will get less but close. Am I way off or in the realm of reality?

Literally nobody thinks the Bronco is luxury vehicle.
Absolutely agreed. But what is interesting is a comparison between the original bronco and this new one, It's like you can't even compare the stark little 1966 to the option-laden, and by '66 standards, cushy SUV of today. That said, by today's standards is not a lux truck. And as a fan from '66 to 2021, I hope it never will!

To each their own. I like a luxury ride too, that's why I just ordered a 2021 Yukon Denali. The Bronco is a toy for a different kind of driving experience. I can't wait to get it. If I don't like it (highly unlikely) I'll trade it in for something else. It's all good! How blessed are we to be able to sit here and BS about a $60K toy that we can all afford! Life is good my Bronco compadres.
I respectfully take a wider view of the bronco and its cost. I am lucky and can afford a 60k model, but gauging comments on this site, a boat load of folks can not. But the best part of this 2021 version is that there is something for everyone's purpose and price. And I agree with you wholeheartedly that in the world of bronco right now-it's all good. I would even venture to say that bronco's best days are ahead!

I think many of us feel Ford made some odd compromises.

It went with IFS vs SFA for comfort vice off-roading capability ---while then saying it can't be a larger vehicle since its not about comfort but off-roading.

It's an off-roader so don't expect good MPG --- yet you still can't have a V8, here is a small turbo

It has superior break-over, crawl ratio, and ground clearance but you can't get all that at one and you are compromising transmission, axles, sway bar disco, etc depending on package.

It's not designed to have lots of cargo room ---- yet the old broncos had more as do many of it's closest competitors and at least rear seats are designed to come out in a jeep.

I'm extremely happy overall that Bronco is back. I love the looks of it and they overall hit a home run, but that doesn't mean it can't be improved upon or that Ford didn't miss on a few things.
regarding space, if you mean "old broncos" being 1978 on, you are right. 1977 back to 1966, uh not so much.

My 91ā€™ Bronco rode fine, was comfortable, got 16mpg, much better vehicle in all but the most extreme off road situations vs. a comparable Jeep of the day. Also had plenty of space btw. Here is to hoping it maintains that superiority ?
thumbs up! My '90 rode far superior to a wrangler, had a V-8 and probabaly get fairly similar mpg to the jeep and much more creature comfort.

Very well said on most points. All I can think about is the guy that wanted a side by side comparison of a new bronco and a F250. ?
I can help the guy out with that. After hunting out of an F350 for the last 18 years, I can assure that guy Iā€™m very excited about the Bronco for everything thatā€™s different from a Superduty.

No matter how amped I am to be out of town, whenever I pull off the pavement In the Superduty, all I can think of is The Green Mile. ā€œIā€™m tired, Boss. Very tired.ā€
