About to order. Dealer saying delivery in a few months if I order a soft top.

Woman I use to work with's husband works directly with Tier 1 suppliers, and says he knows important people at MAP. He says orders are 100% full for MY2021 & MY 2022.

For the record, I don't think reservations mean anything to Ford when it comes to build & delivery. What I reserved is different than what I ordered, simply because I wanted to get a spot in line before really knowing the options / trim lines. Once the order is submitted, Ford will then coordinate the build based on options / parts / takt time at MAP. I was nowhere close to the first reservation (I attempted to reserve the Saturday after the release, got bad info from the dealership I went to, actually put a reservation in weeks later with a different dealer, and even was behind a week or so when the order banks opened, yet have a June 28 build week).

I think you're right... they give no damns about when you reserved. It started as the most important determining factor... now it MIGHT be a tie-breaker.

I think the ideal build is a 4dr big bend, soft top, 2.3l, auto, non SAS.

Do yourself a favor and don’t get emotionally attached. That’ll just bring pain and ruin.

All that said: It's possible! We've had reports of folks who reserved and ordered just a couple months back with build dates. So it all depends on the order, availability of your stuff, allocations, etc. But it really could happen.

If by "a few" he means 24 months, yes he/she is correct.

I think 24 months is unrealistic. There is no reason they cant get through all their reservations in 14-18 Months. They are producing approx 300 Per Day now, Once they ramp up to full production I think wait times will start to decrease.

Short answer is maybe.

Soft tops are the quickest way to cut the line. It's unclear just how far you can cut.

Its not 150/d Its 150 going up to 200 Per Shift.

Going against the grain here: chances are very high if you don’t have many other constrained items.

I ordered a badlands 4d soft topwith towing package in February and I have a VIN with build date on July 20 (confirmed via calling into Ford). I think it’s 100% possible.

Short answer, maybe, maybe not. As stated you dealer is just making a "swag" (scientific wild ass guess) at when your Bronco will be built. Good luck on your decision, but I advise you to now compromise to the point you won't like your Bronco. Patience is a virtue.

The dealer could be right…if he’s got a lot of allocations and very few soft top orders…which is common, then you probably will get it quickly.
