Just my two cent's: Is that throughout FORDS history: yes, they made their vehicles for everyone, starting with H. FORD. NOT complaining just a fact. I know this is brand spanking new (and I am still buying my badass BADLAND without flinching) but my issue here (and this IS a complaint) is why, after I plunk down over 50K for my vehicle, why would you pound sand in me where the SUN DONT SHINE, if I want some extra accessories like lights etc., what, just because it has "FORDS" stamp on it, when aftermarket will be half the price!? I think FORD can do better, Be nice to your loyal family is all I am saying.

Unless they can prove that it's the cause they can't void the warranty

Some people will pay more to have it on and done from Ford because they prefer not to touch their vehicles themselves and they can afford it. I think most on this forum prefer to be a little more DIY, but Ford is willing to cater to people willing to shell out money for convenience and I can't blame 'em.

Because these can be added to the purchase and financed with the vehicle. Your average buyer doesn't look at total cost. They look at their total payment. $1800 financed for 5-6 years with a loan looks like a smaller amount with a monthly payment that only bumps up a little than paying $1400 up front for the same LED light bar. Ford is looking at raising average transaction price and increasing margin while offering these things financed.

Just have to accept that you have to "pay to play". This is an expensive, and largely unnecessary, vehicle. It's sort of a luxury item in a way, and luxuries are not found on the bargain aisle. It's expensive, but cool. How much are willing to pay for cool? Each of us have to answer that for ourselves.

" My car lost oil pressure upon start up sitting in my driveway. After a two week battle with the dealer and GM they blamed my catch can and blocked my warranty giving me no explanation on how the catch can caused any failure and now have walked away from an 11 month old car with 11423 miles on it "

I had the biggest eye roll when I read this: "James Berthold explained to me that due to the fact that he was an elite dealer he was not even allowed to let other non-elite dealers speak with level 2 TAC let alone a customer."

That sucks. I guess the lesson I got out of it all is don't do any aftermarket work until the warranty has ended?? And therefore if Ford is offering any mods I want, to just order them from factory to avoid heartache like yours?

Not my vehicle. Was just pointing out they can and will void warranties. Any aftermarket mod, while the warranty is in effect, can give dealers and automakers a "way out" if needed, if that part could even be a 1% chance of causing an issue. Sure, you can take them to court, to prove otherwise, but you better have deep pockets to do so.

On Wranglerforums.com, there was a guy with a Wrangler who had a Jeep dealer put a MOPAR CAI on his Jeep. ( part was warrantied, as it was installed by a Jeep dealer ) His engine had issues after the fact and the CAI was blamed as the cause. Guy had to eat the price of the motor, as FCA said nope.

I'm confused. It was dealer installed and warranty backed. Yet he paid for it?? Yikes

That's when you take it to court, it's the law they have to prove it. It's why lift company's like zone/BDS will even fight for you If a dealer trys to void a warranty.

Fight hard in the court, if you know you’re gonna win you could probably even sue for the legal fees.

Good luck having some deep pockets and lots of time to do that. Also, just because it's a law, doesn't mean companies will follow it. Just look in the news and see all those laws being broken.

What exactly are the options that are "so expensive" in the B&P that has people so upset?

I had a convo in a thread with a guy on yesterday complaining on the cost of the Warn winch at $2500.

A Warn Zeon 5 Ton with synthetic rope installed and warranty protected for $2500 is actually exactly what I expected. Why? Because I know what it costs to buy a Warn winch and install it. Winch alone from Warn is $1600 in a box. That doesn't include the mounting plate.

Think a lot of guys on here just don't want to admit what they don't know and don't have any experience with.

Nothing wrong with not knowing, but please do some homework before ranting online. LED lights are not cheap; uaully a decent light bar is $600-$800, then wiring, weatherproofing, and AUX hook up at another $200 for most shops. Sure you can install yourself, but most don't want to fool with wrenching. There is nothing wrong with that.

If you buy from the factory, like many others have mentioned, the dealership can't say you screwed up the wiring and void your warranty. And trust me, this first year Bronco will have bugs galore, so you don't want to get stuck with being told no.

But, don't worry about it. If what I've written makes no sense to you, no offense taken.
