It took 40 days but my Bronco is back home!

On 12/23, the engine died and it needed to be replaced (read original thread).

Today, 01/31, I got her back! I've only driven about 30 miles today, all seems good so far. I will be taking her to my local OHV Park tomorrow to giver her a proper shakedown!

I don't know of any reason why the replacement would be bad. 2.7s outside the original bad valve batch have had very little to no reported issues. Good that your getting it out again.

All 6. The compression reading should have been over 150psi in each cylinder.
yeah true. That seems really odd to me that all of them went out though.

Looking good. Glad you are back in the saddle again. I am.

Got you beat though, mine's been in the shop since Dec. 7th, (Pearl Harbor Day + Bro's BDay) and still waiting. Of course I smashed mine up, city bus fodder/target and had 3 side damage plus mic top replacement, but hoping for something soon. Late Jan. turned into, "Well we found..." more stuff to replace, more suspension damage. Anyways, didn't want to pee in your cheerios. Definitely digging the black details on side and hood.

So...is this now a 2nd First Edition...or a First Edition 2nd...JK.
At least you got it back and not leaning against a fence post like the rest of us.

Any pics of under the hood after the procedure? It's already a wiring harness mess from factory. Curious if they put any effort to make it look like it came from factory.
I'll post some tomorrow

Yeah this is not the case. Several people who had their 2.7s replaced have already had the 2nd engine need replacement as well, right here on these forums.

There is no known “original bad valve batch.” That was a rumor/theory that has mostly been disproven (and certainly never been confirmed) now that failure distribution has occurred over a much wider range of build dates and engine build dates.
