After announcement, do I now have to go to the dealer and try to get a " dealer stock" Bronco?

I was reading this "New Announcement " from Ford and a phrase worried me. With a 7/19 reservation date and March 17 2021 order date on my WT, the phrase that worried me was " non obligation orders". Can someone please explain what that means for my WT I have on order? Since they are no longer taking online orders, do I now have to go to the dealer and try to get a " dealer stock" Bronco now or are they going to honor my reservation timestamp and eventual order.....or do we "non obligation" order holders fall into dealing with the dealers for their "dealer stock broncos?

No. You’re good. You’ll have to resubmit an order for 2022. Whenever that opens up, sometime in September.
Thanks. Their wording just kinda threw me off. Do I have to resubmit my order at the dealership or can I do it online?

You can likely build and price online like before and submit to the dealership without going in.
I’ll do mine like that as my dealer is out of state.

So if I don’t have a VIN or build date yet, should I be assuming I will have to reorder with the 22 model year? Does that mean that I can change my color too?

Anything that was dropped that was a 2021 option and not an option in MY2022 will have to be changed including colors if they are not available in MY2022.

If your Black Diamond is a hard top, yes, you will be booted to 2022.
Yes you have to submit a new order for the 2022 model.
Yes, you should be able to change the color....or any other thing you'd like.

If you are a soft top, you may still get built this year, possibly.

No obligation orders. Just means if you order it you’re not obligated to purchase should you change your mind. Then they’ll sell it to someone else. It’s their way of getting dealer stock.

Yes you will have to reorder. You should be able to make any changes you wish. If your original order was placed on or before 3/19 you will be price protected from any Ford price changes. I expect Ford to spell out the details of that policy as far as model changes, etc.

changed to soft top. No other options that are seemingly delaying the build. Would I see the vin in my “Ford account” once it posts?

I received an email very promptly on the Thursday I was scheduled. By 9:30AM.

That email will most likely be your first knowledge of being selected. The email will contain a link to a build tracker that will be the most up to date Ford tracker.

I RARELY checked my "Ford account" until build time to see if the SYNC updated. Otherwise, it's kind of worthless.

Yep. We’re in the same boat. No vin or build date. When the ordering period opens you can reconfigure how you see fit. I’m moving from badlands to wildtrack. Keeping the mic top and considering any special editions.
Might go with the new green as well.
