After Market Sound Deadening (from dealer)

Hi!

Has anyone had a dealer install OEM sound deadening to their hardtop? I have a warranty replacement that was ordered. The dealer said they do not come with the sound proofing from factory and would need to install at dealer. I am sure this is a fine path but wanted to query the group for any experiences had (eg., any issues, etc).

The dealer is planning to install. The short story is, my hardtop was starting to "bubble" and the dealer got the green light to warranty replace. I went to swap hardtops today and asked them to ensure the replacement had the sound deadening. The dealer said it did not and that they would have to order and install - as replacement tops do not come from factory with sound deadening preinstalled. And,,,I was thinking the same regarding the amount of experience a dealer has installing

yes. as a part of the warranty replacement.

I guess I'd have to inquire w/ the dealer their experience. It's pretty straight forward to install but certainly someone is going to have to be paying attention to detail to make it look factory.

I had the driver's front panel replaced on mine under warranty, and was told the exact same thing by the dealer... almost verbatim to your post.

Getting driver side front panel replaced under warrranty and hearing dealer has to install sound deadening. Any updates from those that had it done by dealer? Worried about it drooping and falling down
