The point of this thread is to get a baseline for everybody to be on the same page. Not everyone is going to be happy with the final product. But it is what it is.

***What we know, or at least have strong indications of being true***

Ok, so we know its all but confirmed to have IFS, a solid axle option may be in the cards somewhere but there is no promise of it.

Engine choices, we have indicators pointing at both the I4 2.3 EB and the V6 2.7 EB. We also know a hybrid is in the works.

Transmission options. Automatic for sure, and potentially a 7-speed manual.

Removable roof panels are confirmed too so thats not an argument.

****My personal opinions***

Back to the IFS vs SFA. Personally I'm fine with either. That being said, IFS is desirable for most consumers. But it would be ideal to have the SFA to build the off road reputation, that will drive salesup. So maybe a variant with a big stick up front will fix that. If not, the aftermarket will step in I'm sure.

Engine choices. Personally I would like a NA V6 or V8 option. We'll have to wait and see what happens.

Transmission options. I drive A LOT and the ease of an automatic cannot be refuted in that aspect. But many like the control of a manual for off road scenarios, and some prefer it just because.

Removable roof will be nice, but its not something I see myself utilizing a lot. But my kids would love it.

So there it is, I feel I'm in the majority of consumers with some enthusiast ideals. This is a thread to express opinions, not argue. Logical debates are encouraged. Civility is preferred. Lets have a good chat everybody. We all want this blue oval to do well, if we want parts rigs 10 years down the road.

All I care about:

1. Pricing in line with wrangler

2. Awesome styling

3. Able to accept a 35” tire with minimal or no work

4. Manual

That’s all I “need” to buy one. Everything else is a want.

It will be heavily original bronco based on appearances, and from Ford statements.
Appears to have a swinggate, which was leaked a while back. Pics appear to confirm that.
4dr shorter wheelbase than 4dr JL, 2dr maybe a bit longer (not sure on this one)
Hints of the 3.0TT. The 5.0 will fit in the current ranger frame, so should also fit in this one, but that will likely be exclusively aftermarket
no fold down windshield, it has some curvature to it, likely due ot the significantly increased strength of having some curve.

1 and 2 are the wild cards. I'm hopeful that the styling will be awesome, but I'm worried it's going to be $$$.

As far as I'm concerned, as long as I can get a Manual and a 2.7tt, I'm happy

As Nickp said, everything else is a want

For me to even consider purchase it needs to have:
- TTV6 or better
- IFS
- 2 Door with short overall length
- Reasonable ground clearance and suspension travel (~10" or better)

From everything we've seen and heard, I'm not too worried about any of those. The stuff that I'm less sure about is:

Things that will heavily influence whether I get one are:
- Transfer case options (I want the Raptor/Platinum transfer case or similar)
- Styling
- Pricing
- Interior design/layout

Things I would like to have but that aren't necessarily dealbreakers:
- Go fast package (factory high performance shocks and the ability to lock the rear diff at any speed)
- Manual transmission
- Recaro seats
- Torsen front diff
- Interior features (upfitter switches, carplay, heated/cooled seats)
- Option to have a fixed/non-removeable roof
- LED lights

$$$ for the Raptor/R version is going to be the point I nope right out if it's inline with a Rubicon Gladiator price.

DIS TEW MUCH

I can't really see the Raptor/R/Rock Monster/whatever top of the line version coming in significantly below a Rubicon Wrangler. Hopefully they give some reasonable options for those who want to pay less, but that's around what I'm expecting to spend.

Gladiator Rubicons can easily hit 70k. That's full-on Raptor money. Wrangler Rubicons start a bit more reasonable, but they're severely lacking in available features.

If I can't get out the door under 50k for a well-optioned R/Raptor, I'll likely step out of this line.

I agree, on the price being a factor. But its been said it will start higher, but end lower on the price scale compared to jeep. I won't be surprised if most are 4dr base models. The high end ones will catch peoples eyes and bring them into the dealers. The styling and high msrp reality has to strike at a point where the consumer still wants it, even if it means losing features.

There's a lot of second guessing going on here...and also over on BOF.

2.7 was a presumed 'given' for a long time. But lately its starting to sound a lot like the 2.3 in most everything EXCEPT for the highest trim which has the 3.0 and many many other goodies - for a BUNCH of dollars

Curious, on the off chance the stick's only available on the 2.3, would you be willing to settle?

I would

I could, yes. I dont need this to be any faster than it needs to be since I already have other toys.
