I pulled the trigger and ordered early last month. Part of my original order was the number keypad, but I wanted it installed under the gas door instead of on the driver side door. For whatever reason, the manager refused, so I had it removed from my order. As I understand it (from a YouTube video about it), it's entirely wireless and simply installed with dual sided tape.

1) If you have the keypad is it indeed wireless?
2) Has anyone here tried that 'mod' - relocating the keypad?
3) Any disadvantages to this I'm not seeing?

Why are you trying to hide it? If you don't like it just use the Ford app and if you have a I-watch start it off that.

I just like the cleaner look, and want my gf to be able to open as well when we go on trail - that way we can leave keys locked up. Can multiple watches open it? She has a Lincoln - can you have multiple cars on Ford Pass?

Yes it's wireless. In retrospect, the easiest thing to do would be to order it from the factory and relocate it. This does not require programming. It's applied with double stick tape, some users have reported pulling it off with fishing line and it was still sticky enough to reapply on the gas door.

I ordered it from the accessory catalog and programmed it using FDRS software. Normally something a dealer would do, but I have the software through work. Forscan can't do it. This video sums it up well:

It's been on my gas door for about 3 months now with no issues. I like the clean look and it works as designed.

I have the key pad, but havent used it because the fob has a proximity sensor. As soon as I touch the handle, it unlocks. Is this part of the high package, or is it standard?

My Bronco has yet to arrive but a question: can the fob and/or keys be left in vehicle (for instance parked at trailhead while off fishing <risk for immersion>) and still be able to lock and unlock?

if it’s anything like my gf’s Lincoln, yes it can. We do this at trailheads ourselves.

I was wondering that same thing.
I just tested the theory and yes. You can lock the keys in the truck and lock the doors with the keypad.
the proximity sensor will not detect the keys (I put them in the Center console cup holders for the test)
One caveat, if someone gains entry, (broken window for example) the truck will start…

I removed the keypad with a little heat from a hair dryer and relocated it to the b pillar where it belongs…
lots if sticky left for it to adhere nicely.
(I cleaned the b pillar with alcohol)

That’s where it is on my gf’s Lincoln. The door makes no sense.

I've done this on EVERY Ford I've owned for last 20 years (guess now you all know how to steal my cars)

I've done a few things for convenience between some of the Fords I own, when they offer such "activities" or capabilities, but I don't think more than 3 people know, and two of them gave me those ideas...

I have relocated mine to the inside of the gas door. Works great.

Although creative, I didn't really like this at first. Now that I know it's stuck on by nothing other than 3M tape, I find it more appealing. Much less likely to just fall off.
